islamic denominations

hola,

i am curious about islamic denominations... if i may ask what are the differences between these denominations, for example what are the differences between shias and muslims? my friend janissary told me on christian forums that shias are like Catholics... how do islamic denominations commune with one another?

An arab ruler as you have never seen him before

No, this is not a joke of some sort, King Abdullah of Jordan actually appeared in Star trek

Egyptian Blogger, Wael Abbas, posted this video exerpt of the popular American show Star Trek-Voyager (episode 35: Investigations - 1995 to be exact) . It shows King Abdullah, probably not king by then, playing a silent role as one of the crew members.

Impressive !! King Abdullah, a member in an American serial. But on second thought, aren't all the Arab rulers ?!

i don't claim to be an expert on deobandis but i do know a few. The deobandi mosque in my town doesn't say mawlid is sinful to practise. but it neither makes it an "obligatory act"which muslims must practise in order to be considered amongst those who truly love our prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) or looks upon those who do it as sinners .

Winter's heaviest snow heading in

Weather forecasters are predicting the heaviest snowfalls of the winter so far over most parts of Britain overnight.

The snow, which is expected to fall for several hours, could be 15cm deep in hilly areas of Wales and the Midlands, and 2cm to 5cm deep in the south-east.

While having this charge he is blessed with having ideas upon ideas that will change the way this ummah works and change the way Muslims are viewed in the west. Although these ideas would definitely change the ummah's course, reality starts knocking on Joe Abdullah's door.
