A World Without the Truth

What is truth?

It is often assumed that truth is mind-independent. That, if the world is a certain way, then it is true that it is that way, independent of anyone thinking that it is that way (so the tree falling in the wood [b]always[/b] makes a sound).

Perhaps those who make this assumption shouldn't.

The assumption that the mind-independent features of the world [i.e. ‘just the facts’] determine the truth of propositions, does not entail that truth is independent of minds.

So as Mr Iktihar is always arguing about the importance, richness and beauty of preserving the mother tongue - i.e ENGLISH Dirol

this thread is dedicated to the word of the day

the importance of preserving English and making our lazy elders learn this beautiful language

and any general help needed with english

for today i need to know

what does "FORT" mean i.e. "I forts commend you..."

and what does "Vassilate" mean?

Sir Cyril Taylor, the chairman of the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, is of the opinion that Muslim children are not doing well in schools because they speak their own mother tongues at home. A very high proportion of the mothers come from the sub-continent, few speaking English. It is a major cause of lower results in English.

If children do not use their home language, it will die and with it they lose a big part of their faith and culture. Children see language as a feature of their identity.

I say 27 March 2007. Plucked that number of out of thin air, so let's see how far off I am. (you can quote me fore integrity if you wish, otherwise I could be tempted to change the date to the correct one once the war starts... not that I cannot edit anyone else's posts :P)
