IZZATUNA (OUR HONOUR)

As salaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh

InshaAllaah taa'ala this reaches you all in the best of health and eemaan.

With winter fast approaching, the days shortening and taking the current climate into consideration ie Islaamaphobia on a rise, Sincere Naseeha has come up with a one day workshop based on self defence.

*** 'IZZATUNAA (Our Honour) ***
"...and who, whenever tyranny afflicts them, defend themselves." [42:39]

During this workshop we hope that sisters will take away practical advice which they can implement with conviction and courage should the need arise.

We will be offering our sisters spiritual advice as well as hands on techniques in order to deal with circumstances they may face upon their travels with assurance and confidence.

Benefit claimants who break the law could be stripped of up to five times as much state cash per week in fines

Those who fail to pay a fine after they have been convicted of a crime could lose up to £25 per week instead of the present £5 maximum.

A £25 penalty would represent about 37% of the present rate of jobseeker's allowance

With the summer riots still fresh in the nation's memory, the Prime Minister said the plans will show offenders they cannot get away with paying "the bare minimum".

Muslim democrats beat secular tyranny - again

Tunisia, the prime mover of the Arab Spring, had its first democratic outcome: Last weekend, this small Arab nation held free and fair elections, which had been only a dream under the tyranny of its former dictator, the all-secular Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.

Moreover, the winner turned out to be the Islamic-inspired party that the same Ben Ali brutally suppressed for decades: the Renaissance Party, or, with its original name, Ennahda.

Qurbani

[qs:108:2]

Zayd lbn Arqam (RA) relates that the Companions (ra) asked, "O Rasulullah! (Saw) What is Qurbani?" He replied, "It is the sunnah of your father lbraheem (as)." They asked again, "What benefit do we get from it?" He answered, "A reward for every hair (of the sacrificed animal)." "And (what reward is there for animals with) wool, 0 Rasoolullah (Saw)?" they asked. "A reward", he said, "for every fibre of the wool.", (Ibne Majah)

Cutting hair/nails in first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah

Question:

Last year I cut my hair on the 5th day of Dhul Hijja and then I came to know that we should not cut our hair if we intend to do Qurbānī. So was my qurbānī accepted or not?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is desirable for the one who will be sacrificing an animal for qurbānī to avoid cutting their hair or nails until after the animal is slaughtered. Rasulullah salallahu alayhi wasallam said:
“When the ten days (of Dhul Hijjah) begin and a person has an animal for sacrifice which he intends to slaughter, then let him not cut his hair or trim his nails.” (Muslim)
Rasulullah salallahu alayhi wasallam said in another Hadith:
