Something to keep an eye on:
Israelis promise to stop eight ships carrying 10,000 tonnes of aid, 800 activists and politicians from more than 40 countries
A flotilla of eight boats carrying thousands of tonnes of construction materials, medical equipment and other aid is preparing to sail to Gaza in the next few days, setting the scene for a confrontation with Israel which has vowed to prevent the ships breaking the blockade on the Palestinian territory.
Three cargo ships and five passenger vessels plan to meet up in international waters between Cyprus and Gaza Strip before heading towards Gaza City. The Israeli military is expected to stop the flotilla and divert it to the Israeli port of Ashdod.

After my editorial I hav ebeen having discussions with several people regarding the concept of Britsh Muslim.
Are we even allowed to call ourselves 'Britsh Muslims'?
Isn't it Kufr?
Are we just Muslims in Britain?
What's the difference?
What does it mean to be a British Muslim?
What is Britishness?
Can you be 'British' and 'Muslim' at the same time?
Should we be proud to be British Muslims?
Is being a British Muslim nationalism?
Please share your thoughts...

A man is suing his mother over her alleged failure to protect him from his father's beatings.
The 32-year-old County Durham man, who cannot be identified, told the High Court in London that his mother, now in her late 60s, assaulted him herself.
He claimed that she aided and abetted daily punishment by her husband by reporting his wrongdoings.
His mother denied liability and has claimed the case was brought outside the legal time limit.

Muslim men have been told to marry women born in Scotland rather than import wives from Pakistan and India.
Shaykh Amer Jamil, a Glasgow-born Islamic scholar, warned that Asian women who have grown up in Scotland are being left on the shelf in favour of wives from outside the country.
Parents often prefer their sons to have arranged marriages with women who grew up in the Indian sub-continent, as they are seen as better partners. But this means there are increasing numbers of British women unable to find a husband.

An old article from the BBC (December 2004), but an intriguing one nevertheless:
ife expectancy is increasing in the developed world. But Cambridge University geneticist Aubrey de Grey believes it will soon extend dramatically to 1,000. Here, he explains why.
Ageing is a physical phenomenon happening to our bodies, so at some point in the future, as medicine becomes more and more powerful, we will inevitably be able to address ageing just as effectively as we address many diseases today.
I claim that we are close to that point because of the SENS (Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence) project to prevent and cure ageing.
It is not just an idea: it's a very detailed plan to repair all the types of molecular and cellular damage that happen to us over time.
Three Britons - all members of the same family - have been shot dead in a marriage dispute in eastern Pakistan, local police have said.
Mohammad Yousaf, 51, his wife Pervez, 49, and daughter Tanya, 23, were killed at a cemetery in a village near Gujrat.
The three, of Nelson, Lancashire, were shot by four gunmen - understood to be related to them - after an argument broke out. Another woman was killed.
One man has been arrested and two other suspects are on the run.
Eyewitness Muhammed Anwar described how two groups of attackers had been waiting for the family - inside and outside the cemetery.
