Do you call it life...or just a bunch of lessons? :/

Every situation is a lesson to be learned. From mundane chores to complex projects, life is always ready to teach you something.The lessons are usually not all that obvious. Yet they are there if you will think to take a look. The lessons are there in every moment, in every dilemma, in every frustration and every joy. They are there in every sadness, every victory, every discomfort and every pleasure. Each lesson you learn paves the way for a new and even more valuable one. Each lesson you ignore keeps coming back, again and again

What's the point of all these lessons?

Do we get to actually "Live"? (guess it depends on what you mean by living, eh?)

Fethullah Gulen and his beliefs?

Anyone know of Fethullah Gulen and his beliefs?

Someone mentioned to me that he is a perennialist and that this is a bad thing. (Said Nursi was also mentioned)

However online, I cannot seem to find anything on this and he seems rather mainstream.

So the questions I have is:

  1. What is perennialism?
  2. Why is this bad?
  3. What are the views of Fethullah Gulen and are they mainstream?
  4. What of Said Nursi?
  5. Is there anything else that would be interesting to know?

Boris Johnson criticised for 'Kosovo' benefits remark

Ministers have criticised Boris Johnson for saying he would not allow "Kosovo-style social cleansing" in London, amid a row over housing benefit reforms.

Many London MPs are concerned the £400-a-week cap will force people out of the city and the Conservative mayor said that would not happen "on my watch".

Over 100,000 stops-and-searches: zero terrorists

When it comes to wasting police time, the biggest offenders appear to be...the police. That, at least, appears to be the conclusion of the Home Office. Its official statistics, published today, show that while police stopped over 100,000 individuals last year to "prevent acts of terrorism", there was not a single arrest for a terror offence as a result of these stops.

Ok, I’ve been advised to make a forum thing on this topic. I’m not sure whether there’s already been a topic on so; but if there has , I haven’t seen it. A couple of years ago, I went to Afghanistan, which was so not my choice, but I had to go to a funeral. We stayed there for about a fortnight. There were a couple of girls I really got along with. We used to sit and talk. They wanted to know things about England, Egypt, Italy , Arabia, Sweden, etc and how they were like. They’ve get shocked at the stuff I’d say. I told them about stuff. They’d cover their faces with their chadors and look down. At the time they used to call me ‘khush shanz’ (lucky). I really never understood why.
