Forced Mortgage . . .

Assalam Alaikum

No it's not a spelling error, it says forced mortgage. the current financial crisis is big news, mostly self inflicted but a crisis nonetheless. The reason i create this thread is simple, due to the extremely material world that we live in it's been easier than ever to access material wealth - or debt to be precise. In this country and most of the world the requirement of a mortgage is essential in order to buy a house - there are many scholarly opinions on the matter with Imam Abu Hanifa's (r.a) being one used amongst a general consensus- however the issue lies upon the amount being borrowed ; amount borrowed against income.

Salam Alyakum. I just want to talk about the fate of Imams in the 21st century. How many of you are likely to trust or defer to one Imam? Do you feel that Imams are in touch with modern day Britain? Do you think they do enough? Do you think they handle issues well? Are there any particular Imams, scholars or speakers that you like? And more importantly what can they do to improve?

topic "Rings Haraaaam" on whether or not gold rings are allowed in Islam.

But two members spoke about the power of rings.

I thought this was interesting and, therefore, should be a new dicsussion.

Hence this thread.

Please give your views.

I think A good ring can adorn a woman's outer appearance.

Just as a name can be a source that enhances a girl's personality,
the ring can, in a similar way, add to the mystique of a woman.
