Mumbai rocked by deadly attacks

Gunmen have opened fire at a number of sites in the Indian city of Mumbai (Bombay), killing at least 80 people and injuring about 200 more.

Korean adulterer faces jail term

Korean adulterer faces jail term

South Korean prosecutors have demanded an 18-month jail term for a popular actress who admitted breaking the country's strict laws on adultery.

Ok So-ri had sought to overturn the 50-year old legislation, which carries a maximum jail sentence of two years.

She said it was an infringement of human rights and amounted to revenge.

But in October the constitutional court ruled for the fourth time that adultery must remain a crime, saying it was damaging to social order.

Ms Ok has admitted having an affair with a well-known pop singer and her husband, Park Chul, is said to be seeking "a severe sentence".

'Loveless marriage'

Manchester congestion charging.

Apparently there are more people against the Manchester congestion charge that I thought.

I am against it on principle - dislike the concept of a charge, no matter how great the gains.

(I also think the government will cave in as it actually needs the votes now unlike when it decided to screw all mancunians over a few years ago..)

Anyway, got the following "chain SMS":

In the next few day u will recieve ur postal ballot paper for GREATER MANCHESTER transport referendum thru ur door, plz VOTE NO to TIF and the CONGESTION CHARGE. Frwd this to 7 ppl n u will have 7 years of gud luk, if u dont sent to 7 ppl u will hav 14years if bad luck, n u will b responsible4 the congestion charges. LOL

I think that is a convincing argument.

Hi, Im a new member to this site and glad i found it actually, as it seems perfect for what i was looking for ...

This is a problem i have faced for a good few years now so its nothing new, but even years on i still am not any clearer on what i think/beleive in and i really need to hear some feedback from others to see if its just me who faces this or what ....

I dont want to be blasted by all the fully-practising Muslims if i say something you dont agree with because thats the whole point of this post ... I am confused and am looking for a bit of clarity, so please respect that and dont just tell me im 'wrong' like a few people have done when ive asked for advice elsewhere. because thats just useless to me !

Yoga banned for Muslims

[quote]
Malaysia's top Islamic body have issued an edict that prohibits Muslims from practising yoga, saying that elements of Hinduism in the ancient Indian exercise could corrupt them.

The National Fatwa Council's chairman, Abdul Shukor Husin, said many Muslims fail to understand that yoga's ultimate aim is to be one with a god of a different religion - an explanation disputed by many practitioners who say yoga need not have a religious element.

"We are of the view that yoga, which originates from Hinduism, combines physical exercise, religious elements, chanting and worshipping for the purpose of achieving inner peace and ultimately to be one with god," Abdul Shukor said.
