Schools of thought
Salam brothers and sisters,
Does a convert have to make a choice whether to be Shia or Sunni and if so, is it obligatory to follow a school of thought?
Jazakallah khair

Why does Allah allow this to happen?

Salam Brothers and Sisters,
I have not posted in a while but there is one topic on my mind everyday which I cannot conclude and would like to hear your views.
I am getting tired by the day of the acts that occur in this country and around the areas I work and live. I have a wife and my daughter Aisha is nearly 15 months old.
Salam,
Today whilst in a supermarket I saw a brother with a beard, well built standing by the door as a security guard. As I walked in and noticed him I paid my Salams and then continued to walk into the store.
It then occured to me what happens if he has to restrain of remove a female from the store (physically)? What hurdles does he face?
The same applies to a muslim police officer.
Salam Brothers & Sisters,
Did anyone watch the program last night on channel 4? I'm interested in what people thought.

Putting aside my opinion on the matter surely a continuation of comments from members of the government is not helping things?
Salam,
I have a flu jab later today and wanted to know if it would impact on my daily fast? Does it nullify my fast for today at all?
Assalamualaykum,
Recently with the birth of our first child I felt it more appropriate than ever before to start to grow my beard, and I have done.
Within the last 2 months my father has asked me three times to shave my beard as he does not think it is appropriate with the current hostilities within the UK.
At first I thought that he feared for my safety but it seems more apparent that this is not the case.
I researched and embraced Islam myself and have been following the path of the Sunni mainly, however my father is Iranian (shia) and I think this is another issue he has.
Assalamualaykum,
Me and my wide recently had our first child which we named Aisha. My wife is Christian but I am muslim (from a Shia family) but practice more the Sunni way as I was never tought by my Father or his family and embraced Islam myself.
Although we have decided Aisha I have had constant remarks from my family about the name and the dislike towards it. I understand the reasons why but is it really possible for a whole nation (Iran) to "Hate" the name as some family members have described it? Surely this is small minded foolishness.
