Google tool watches as you work
Google's desktop search software is being overhauled to become a digital helper that reacts to what users do.
The move is likely to intensify competition between Google and rivals Microsoft, Yahoo and AOL.
The revamped software will suggest web links, personal documents and images that might be relevant to whatever someone is doing with their computer.
The tool also automatically subscribes to feeds from weblogs and news sites that a user visits.
So Long and Thanks for all the Fish
So long and thanks for all the fish
So sad that it should come to this
We tried to warn you all but oh dear?
You may not share our intellect
Which might explain your disrespect
For all the natural wonders that
grow around you
So long, so long and thanks
for all the fish
The world's about to be destroyed
There's no point getting all annoyed
Lie back and let the planet dissolve
Despite those nets of tuna fleets
We thought that most of you were sweet
Especially tiny tots and your
pregnant women
So long, so long, so long, so long, so long
So long, so long, so long, so lo
Drug Abuse and Young Adults
Any thoughts on why our age group is so much more likely to "experiment" with drugs, or be pulled into the drug world?
Much like any crime (which ultimately is always self destructive) the usual suggestions include education and economic pressure.
However I do not necessarily accept those as governing variables, especially since our age group is the most actively engaged in the education process both by law and for biological purposes (our minds are most active at this age).
Furthermore education specifically related to the negative aspects of drug abuse has not only failed in the US
Art Thread
Where did my old art thread go?!
This is disgraceful.
Let's start off with Picasso - Synthetic Cubism period.
No idea why I like this one, it's called "Violin and Guitar" and is presently housed in the Hermitage.

Iraqi Constitution
Once again the Constitution's deadline has been bumped back amid quarrelling over major democratic issues.

It appears that the United States is really pushing for a federalist secular government - which might not be a particular expression of the people this constitution will govern.
There was debate earlier centering around whether Islam would be "a" or "the" main source for legislation. They "a's" have it.
Vulgarity
I got into a tremendous argument with a raving liberal friend of mine.
I was arguing that society as a whole has been collapsing into vulgarity and rediculousness which is the result of too much indulgence in freedom (or too much indulgence period) and that as a whole we have cheapened ourselves.
He was arguing that vulgarity was simply the detritus of time, and that overall we are doing better morally since there is less racism - no more institutionalized racism, etc.
We really didn't come to a conclusion.
Where do yall stand on this one. Is vulgarity and constant indulgence in the rediculous the a sign of moral decay, or is it simply a natural biproduct of progress?

Mi'raj an-Nabi
'Allama 'Ata-ul-Mustafa Jameel gave a speech some years ago in Leicester. A brother translated it and has kindly offered for it to be placed on www.aqdas.co.uk
It is about the superlative status of Sayyidina Rasoolallah sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam and his miracles, which surpass modern science thousandfold. It is very relevant in this month of Rajab, the month of the Mi'raj.
Please visit www.aqdas.co.uk to read it.
