Suhoor/Sehri/Pre Dawn Meal/Iftar

Lioness of Allah โ€”

Assalamualykum,

So with Ramadan creeping closer day by day, i was just curious, wondering about what people eat at sehri.

I read something once about the Prophet's pre dawn meal, saying it's sunnah to eat at least a date and drink some water , but i'm not sure where its from. Please correct me if i'm wrong though.

Anyhoo, what do you guys normally eat for Suhoor?

I normally have a bowl of cereal, Coco Pops or Cheerios,:D but iknow people who eat Chappatis (Roti) with curry. (Personally i could probably not be able to stomach that, that early)

*EDIT*: We may as well talk about iftari too now... I normally break my fast with dates and water, a lil' bit of fruit and then... Stuff down all the fried stuff....and maybe eat roti too ๐Ÿ˜›
But thats just me what about you guys??

Let Za discussion BEGIN!!!

I didn't really think when i made the username. I hope it doesn't sound arrogant... you've heard of the lion of Allah haven't you? Well, i thought of the female version of that...:s

Anywayz, inshallah first of Ramadhan tomorrow!!!

s.b.f โ€” Sun, 31 Jul 2011 - 19:12

Following this battle Mohammad gave Ali the name Asadullah, which in Arabic means "Lion of Allah" or "Lion of God".

So why do people call themselves that? Cringe.
Well, i did say that i didn't think when i made the username up. I don't want it to sound arrogant, rude or proud. Im just me. Besides, off topic.
Don't know why you're defending yourself for no reason.

Back to topic: dates are delicious. Ate about ten today; hope no one notices.

Suhail (not verified) โ€” Mon, 1 Aug 2011 - 14:11

Couple paratas with dhaal and tea and loads of water....may have slightly overdone it lol

TPOS โ€” Mon, 1 Aug 2011 - 15:15

What time did you wake up? Most likely your food will be digested by the time you wake up no matter what you eat.

I did feel hungry, but so far it has been much better than last year. Last year I was actually in pain cuz of the hunger! Then again, there's quite a few hours left!
