Time to wind down

The dinner, IFTAAR* was brilliant! I made the food man, I MADE IT. ME! By myself! Ok I have cooked before of course but it’s mainly been for family members (like my own house of siblings and parents which doesn't count much since they have a kind of 'I'll eat it, even if it's not that good' attitude - but my sister not the one with the kids, thinks i cook pretty yum food) – So yeh cooking for close members of the family aside, I haven't made much (I'm talking proper big meals) except once – where my sister (the same one I just mentioned) and I (I made the main) had to make enough food for over, let me count.. Ok I can’t actually be bothered to count but it was definitely over 20 people, maybe it was 30!

Why do people wear Niqaabs???

It's not necessary and was not mentioned of in most trustworthy Hadiths, and the truth is that people in Niqaabs creep me out, but why do they wear them?

It is scary when in England, there are those that don't wear a jilbaab and those that cover their entire face. I don't prefer the Niqaabis because I find that the Niqaab is a riducule of our religion and those wearing it should be ashamed. No offence but it's my personal opinion. What do you think? Thanks. Biggrin (The way to gain swaab from Allah is to do what Allah thinks is right instead of making a trend of sticking excess pieces of clothing to the female face).

What i dont want to happen in college.

1. i need to tone down on my freespirits. dont want to scare away potential friends. no...i have to lure them close to me THEN make them as crazy as me! no seriously, its good to be, you know, yourself, but Lillyself is a bit too much of a handful, wouldnt you agree?

2. -"you're SO cute" "you're so small!!"
=/

The food is delish – except this, WHAT IS THAT?

So tomorrow evening is the dinner, I mean Iftaar. I decided to cut a few things from the menu since my brother (I think is was) was saying that everyone will be full quickly and that the food will be left, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but the fridge gets pretty full and then we have no storage space.
So I’m doing one thing per um section (let me just copy, paste – oh and edit, it here):

Starter:
Lebanese Borek
Chocolate-covered Dates (doesn’t really count because it’s just to open the fast with)

Salad:
Tabbouleh

Side:
Batata makhliya
Black and Green Olives and pickled chillies (I forgot what they’re actually called and can’t be bothered to go down to check)

Main:
Shawarma lahm kharoof

The perfect guy (or girl if you are a guy)

So everyone seems to be totally ‘on’ marriage. Marriage Feverrr (ok not everyone but a few of us – you know who you are).

Continuing my sentence (http://www.therevival.co.uk/forum/general/7299#comment-161691): A friend from uni suggested that I join Single Muslims. Com (is that the right one – I’m not sure now but anyway it was one of those online things where you can meet other single Muslims – preferably to marry that is and not waste time with). She was joking of course, um I think.

So yeh I joined.

JOKE!

The Times ignored BBC director general's criticisms of Sky

Just commenting on the Newstatesman piece about howThe Times ignores Mark Thompson's criticisms of Sky - The Times generally being considered a "proper" newspaper and thus generally above such editorial tinkering with content.

There is also "Sky News paper round up: Wot no Guardian?" that someone blogged about Sky News not showing the Guardians front page when doing its paper review since it featured a front page criticising Rupert Murdoch.

Is it me or has Murdoch's media become terribly emboldened since (before) the last elections?
