Sunday 13. Jan 08 is a march through east berlin, germany, to commemorate the killings in 1919 of 2 workers' leaders
(rosa luxemburg and karl liebknecht), murdered by government forces
("Freikorps")

I am going (fly from Stansted sat eve) with a couple of friends
and we shall be distributing 1,000 leaflets, in german language, announcing the formation of a campaign in uk called
"Hands off the People of Iran" -

that is, opposed to the US, UK etc imperialists
and opposed to the theocratic regime in Tehran.

the campaign was launched at a conference in London in Dec 07, and
we think it needs to become an international campaign so
we shall be helping build it by leafletting this demonstration in Berlin

From darkness to light

Asslaamu aalaikum

This thread is for everyone to share their experiences about how they came to Islam or how they became practicing. The journey, struggles, the end result and so forth.

I don’t know about anyone else but I find it really inspiring when people talk about how they came to the path and everything. It makes you realise how luckily we are that Allah swt has chosen to guide us and that we are lucky to be Muslims and not disbelievers!

Know your role models

Asslaamu aalaikum!

allahmdulilah ta'ala we as muslims have the best role models in history but how many of us know anything about them? their lives, their works? the sahaba were the best of people and were loved dearly by nabi kareem saw. its a real shame that many of us don’t no anything about them, if it wasn’t for them we wouldn’t be muslims today. they fought and sacrificed their lives for islam.

so, lets all share stories about the sahaba, the ambiya and the early imams.

Anger Issues

Salaams,

Anger problems are quite common is people - ones age or gender makes little difference.

One teenage girl - whom I regarding as a little darling actully told me that she carries a hammer around with her in school as she gets angry when people tease her...once this hammer smashed the school windows.

Another child I know bashes his own big head on the wall when he doesnt get his own way...as far as I'm concerned, he can bash his head till he bleeds, but No means No.

By nature I'm a pretty chilled out person...so this behavior fascinates me.

E.T. Reads the Quran

A friend of mine and I were having this debate about whether the Quran recognises or states the existance of Aliens.

Although i had to admit i seemed to have missed that part in the Quran if it was indeed there. Anyway he quoted me the following:

Sura 27:65 None in the heavens or on earth, except God,knows what is hidden:nor can they perceive when they shall be raised up (for Judgement)."

He seemed to believe this implied there were beings living in the heavens that would also be accountable on the day of judgement.

Whats your opinon?
