A while ago I started up a topic on Islam and evolution asking whether the two were compatible. I can't find that thread now so am starting a new one.
This debate between Inayat Bunglawala and Harun Yahya on the validity of the theory of evolution shows that there is a place for evolution within Islamic discourse.

Inayat Bunglawala's argument is that taking the theory of evolution seriously is not incompatible with belief in Islam. It also shows that we should be careful not to take our intellectual cues from Christian fundamentalists in the US.
This is Inayat's opening statement:
Assalaamualaykum!

Muslims under siege

There is no such thing as the single monolithic “British Muslim community†that our politicians and media discuss. Britain’s one and a half million or so Muslims belong to a remarkably diverse set of communities; in all, it is estimated, there are over 50 ethnicities speaking almost 100 languages between them.
However it is possible to speak in generalities about their lives and experience in this country:
They are mainly young;
They tend to live in the most deprived cities, and a third of them live in the most deprived neighbourhoods in those cities;

I just wanted to ask you guys if you thought there was a link between newer mobile phones and the amount of technical faults they have? Is it because these newer phones are packed with more features?
I know two people who have a Nokia 6500 slide. 1 person is having problem sometimes such as the phone freezing/crashing, someone told him it was a software problem on the phone. The other person, also has the mobile on contract, he has had his phone for 2 weeks and it has stopped working and wont even come on anymore- he's handed it in to be repaired.
One day I will become a doctor

The title says it all, really.
Thanks
