i have a pocket quran which i keep in my car my question is can i read quran while not in wudu?

or being in wudu is a must to read quran?

brother and sisters im writing this thread in the hope that some one in the area or altrincham or hale would come forward and tell me where is the closest masjid in this area (Altrinchma or Hale in manchester UK).as i work in this area and i have to travel all the way to Old trafford to pray namaz.
