@love to live bu... Yaqub is right. You said it yourself you have no experience and very limited knowledge so you cant afford to be picky. The position of lab tech would be tedious for you plus your over qualified for the position but at least you would have your foot in the door and if any relevant position came up in the firm then you would stand a better chance then other candidates. Your course at uni is it a 3 year course where its all written and then you do exams and coursework during the year or is it a sandwich course where its 4 years and in your last year you spend your time in an opticians? Have you not thought about seeing the careers advisor at uni they can help? Also the careers centre will have vacancies, sometimes firms advertise through the uni career centre.
Thats the problem right there. You would be better off applying in bradistan because you go uni down there. If your at Bradistan uni and you applying in Manchetser its gonna be hard coz a potential employer will look at your CV and realise that the distance is too much for you to be trekcing it up and down everyday. They probs want someone who is local.
Im pretty sure a 4 year course is called a sandwich course. A relative of mine is doing it in finance or something, hes in his 4th year now working in a bank.
Im a bit confused if your gonna be spending a year in a clinic why are you looking to work in an optician now? Wont working in the clinic count as experience meaning you can go and get a job straight away?

Show your parents all the rejection letters you have had, explain to them that its really hard to get a job in Manny what with you being at uni in Bradistan, tell them you really have tried but you aint had no luck. Explain that if you get experience now it will mean your more likely to get a job after you graduate. Tell them you will ring everyday and wont get up to no good lol. My big sis had the same problem she wanted to move out to uni (Wales). It was one of the top unis for her course but my dad was kinda against it at first but once she convinced him he let her move out. In her 2nd and 3rd year she didnt come home during term time coz she had a lot of work plus she were working part time to pay her rent.
Theres no harm in asking. If they no in the end well at least youve tried your best.

Sounds pretty sectarian. I thought Wahhabis were Sunni. Anyway, I think something like that is good if done with proper adhab.
Has anyone ever read an Istikhara? If so did you get a feeling, dream, both or neither? Has anyone ever acted upon their feelings or dreams?
Im only asking coz ive had some dreams lately which i totally dismissed when i first started having them but they are getting more frequent now and it got me thinking what if its sign hmmmm.

Dealing with dreams are a risky business.
You have to deal with interpretation, diff possible meanings etc. Whether the dream is from God, the devil or just your rambling mind.
In the end i think it comes down to if its harmful. Obviously if its harmful dont go through with it. But if its in your best interest then maybe you should.
On the other hand doing nothing is also an option, except you gain nothing.

It is not necessary that you get a dream or even a "feeling." Rather, the istikhara is a prayer that Allah guide you towards that which is best (khayr) for you. If you do the prayer of guidance (istikhara) with the proper manners, the most important of which is to truly consign the matter to Allah and suspend your own inclinations, then Allah will make events unfold in the direction that is the best for your worldly and next-worldly affairs.
I read an Istikhara about a year ago but coz i had some other stuff going on i didnt get the "feeling" or maybe i did but i didnt realise it. I decided to postpone the Istikhara until my mind was clear which never happened. Anyway i had totally forgotten about it until early this year when i started getting dreams about it. The only dreams i remember are the ones where im crying in the dream coz i will start crying in real life and the tears rolling down my cheeks wake me up. These dreams ive been have ive remembered every single one because i get them just before my alarm goes off for Fajir. Then yesterday my mum was describing a dream she had and i was kinda freaked out by it coz its exactly the dream i had 2 months ago! Ive never discussed these dreams with anyone. Ive didnt even tell my mum that i had the same dream as her.
@MuslimBro i have got reams and reams on Istikhara and i know some ppl will get dreams while others get feelings i just wanted someone elses experiences of reading an Istikhara.
@Seraphim yeah dreams are risky and when i started getting them i thought it was the devil interfering but they aint bad dreams which made me think maybe they are from Allah(swt). As of yet i have not acted on my dreams and have asked Allah(swt) for guidance but all HE keeps giving me is more dreams.
@Long to live but...Even if i wanted to act on my dreams i couldnt coz its complicated.

Aslong as they're not telling you to kill people, you'll be fine.
The way i see it, you asked God for guidance and God answers all prayers... maybe not in the way we wanted him to but HE always does. Seems to me, like he's shown you the way.
The question is will you follow?
If not, then what was the point in asking him? Tut tut Naz, wasting Gods time lol.

Sometimes when you're really worried about something you will get dreams about it.
I did istikhara bcoz I wanted to know whether the timing was right for the thing I was doing. Some people are encouraging me and others are discouraging me. I'm just going for it unless there is an obstacle which is stopping me.

lol you make it sound like charmed. My dreams show something that will happen in the future and it involves someone else who are i know of but not personally so you see why its complicated. I cant up to a ajnabee (stranger) and tell them ive been dreaming about them coz theyr gonna think im weird. If a complete stranger said to me they had been dreaming about me i would be freaked out then run a mile. This dream if i act on it, it cant harm that person but it could possibly benefit them.
