[b]4) Out of all the innovations the most practised is the making of Halwa. Some women are thoroughly committed to the making of this dish that they can no longer distinguish between true practises and unfounded customs. A greater emphasis is placed upon the making of Halwa than that of obligatory acts that should be performed on this night.
why is it wrong to make halwa on this night?
(crazy cavemen who are obsessed with halwa need not bother reply)
i duno but u should spend most of the nite in ibdat...
u should recite this dua during Rajab & Sha'baan..
ALLAHUMA BAARIK-LANA FI RAJABA WA-SHA'BAAANA WA-BAL-LIGHNA RAMADHAANA"
"O Allah, make the months of Rajab and Sha'ban blessed for us, and let us reach the month of Ramadan (i.e. prolong our life up to Ramadan, so that we may benefit from its merits and blessings)."
Rajab is the seventh month in the Islamic lunar calendar. This month was regarded as one of the sacred months (Al-Ashhur-al-hurum) in which battles were prohibited in the days of the Prophet(sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) . It is also a prelude to the month of Ramadan, because Ramadan follows it after the intervening month of Sha'ban. Therefore, when the Holy Prophet(sallallahu alaiyhi wassallam) sighted the moon of Rajab, he used to pray to Allah in the above stated words.
So therforeWe too, should take the opportunity of reading this dua, often in the months of Rajab and Sha'baan

I agree with u
but it dont take all night to make halwa
the obsession with halwa fascinates me
What this and Halwa. Halwa is beautiful I love it. Why is there so much negativity about it.

i agree with u
u get two extremes
some who make stuff "must" when there is no basis for it
and other who have heart attacks when people do stuff (even if them people dont consider it a "must")
does everyone agree with this?
2moro night we're suposed to stay awake
and Monday we should fast?
I hope every city is doing it on these days
That's how they're doing it here.
THANK GOD!!
it makes a change to have a concencus
