Who would actually subject their children to an M. Night "bedtime story"

yesterday i was talking to one of my mates from kent....she was telling me about this man in her neighbourhood who everyone is calling a wali of ALLAH...this man cures peoples diseases amd physical problems..
her uncle got cured by this man aswell and is quite close to this wali.
funny thing is she told me that he doesnt have a beard and at times misses his salah...
ladies go visit this so called wali and he prays and blows on them.
so this man cant be a wali cant he?
how can you tell a true saint from a fraudulent one?
so these miracles hes doing curing people is Istidraaj ?
Erm..I don't know what that word means.
However, it is a well established fact that "miracles" are not a sign of a Wali of Allah (swt).
Many Awliya's have reported to have said regarding a man who could fly in the air "So what? Even a fly which jumps from one corpse to another can fly".

Allah (swt) blesses his Wali’s with the best personality, one that is loved by all the angels and all the people.
The Holy Prophet said: “If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel saying, 'Allah loves so and-so; O Gabriel you love him too.’ Gabriel will then also love him and make an announcement amongst the angles 'Allah loves so-and-so, therefore you should love him too,' and so all the angles of the Heaven will also love him, and then he is granted the love (made popular)on earth.” (Bukhari).
Also, the friends of Allah (swt) are the ones who have no fear or sorrow in life.
They are sincere in their faith and God-fearing in their actions. They strictly abide by the laws of Shariah and follow the Sunnah. If one does conform to the above then regardless of how many miracles he can perform he is no friend of Allah (swt) but is in fact the friend of the devil.

The sign of a wali is that he conforms to the shariah in everything. It is not necessary that a person perform miracles to be a wali.
Supernatural acts can be performed even by mushriks.
In India there was a famous Hindu Yogi who could transform himself into water, and these acts are possible after years of training in these fields. The Yogi lived in a house surrounded by a wall on all four sides with no gate or no gap to enter. People would wonder how he got in and out of his courtyard.
One day a challenge was set between this Yogi and Mawlana Gangohi (NOT Mawlana Rasheed Ahmad Gangohi, if my memory serves me correctly it was Mawlana Abdul Quddoos Gangohi but I may be mistaken).
Mawlana Gangohi sort of flew over the wall and entered the home like that, a short while later both Mawlana and Yogi came out flying over the high wall.
They sat. And tested each other. The climax was when Mawlana transformed himself into a pool of water and then back again. The Yogi said he too could to that and did. The yogi was saying how they are both equal. Mawlana was not convinced so he said to the people gathered that when I transform into water dip a cloth in my pool, and when he transforms dip a cloth in his pool. The people did this.
Mawlana commanded the people and the yogi to smell the 2 cloths, the yogis stank and gave off a revolting odour, the Mawlana's was sweet smelling and scented. MashaALLAH.
Basically even kuffar can train themselves i supernatural acts such as metamorphosing (?), teleporting, telepathetic communication etc.

12. When making sajdah, if one does not place the forehead and nose on the ground, but places the forehead only, even then the salaat will be valid. But if one does not place the forehead, and places the nose only, the salaat will not be valid. However, if a person has a valid excuse, it will be permissible to place his nose only.

firstly you should turn to ALLAH in repentance and regret and show remorse for the gheebat you've committed.
if the gheebats reached the person ask them for forgivness,if not pray for their forgivness incase of telling them the situation could become worse.
to help stop just remember...
backbiting incites the anger and punishment of ALLAH, the good deeds are shifted to the person he talked about...if there arent no good deeds he'll recieve bad deeds from the person he gossiped about, also backbiting is like eating your dead brothers flesh..etc..

slander is the same as backbiting EXCEPT the act u are attributing to a person is in fact untrue. so u are lying and backbiting simultaneously, making it even worse.
shawana, another way to prevent one from backbiting is imagining oneself in that position - how would we like to have other people talking nastily about us, or even slandering us?

Better than blackjack and them, where the cards matter.

as far as i'm aware, as long as the card game does not involve money i.e. u are not gambling, and it does not distract u from islamic duties such as salaah or answering ur mom when she calls u, it cannot be labelled 'haraam'.
some muslims are just biased against cards and dice because they automatically link them to gambling - it is the gambling that is wrong, and not the cards or dice themselves.
