The trick is to make yourself the absolute best friend of everybody that works there.

I’ve just had Turkish food for lunch…it was very, very spicy. …apparently, one can get addicted to spicy food very quickly and this can lead to problems in the future. :?

And on a side note…I need to cut down on takeaways.

Spicey food IS addictive, and it WILL lead to problems in the future.

I sold all my furniture to get my curried lamb fix.

I also need to do something about my addiction then. I find it difficult to eat non spicy Asian food :?

But the fact that I drink a lot of milk should make up for my spicy diet...?

You know….milk is perfect for those who suffer from heartburn which is due to an increase in acidity in the stomach..

So if I eat spicy food and then drink milk…I can wash away the effects of spicy food on my stomach.

Sort of like the way you put out fire with water…

Or have I lost the plot…? :?

Milk is good after spicy food.

I cannot eat bland food either. unless its chips.

And Augustus, you have built loyalty when if you do not order for a while, they send over free food.

I was surprised when that happened while at uni. it was brilliant.

But then again, we did also pick the takeaway, and they provided takeout upto three times a day... (we ate at diferent times, and one meal semi together about midnightish...)

I was soo good before Ramadan, was eating healthy etc but soon as Ramadan came, all I ate was oily/junk food Cray 2

So I have decided to eat healthy now, for the past few days i have been having a lot of water/orange juice. No chocolates/sweets/crisps ( i am so motivated at the mo, that i gave my chocolate bar from thorntons to sis :shock: ).

I only eat when i feel hungry and not just for the sake of it, if i feel like snacking, I grab an orange/banana/apple, have also been eatin at least 2-3 fruits per day instead of junk food.

As for exercise, i am still to come to that probably start next week, i do walk 5 mins to the train station (but thats rubbish).

Any tips as to what exercises i should do?

erm actually she's correct. If you get heartburn docs always say lots of cold milk, plain yoghurt, or even ice cold water.

I rarely get heartburn but lots of cold milk helps me more than water.

milk reduces acid levels as muslimsis already said.

Water is a good remedy if you drink enough regularly. 8 glasses about a litre of water. And about 1.5 litres for women who are pregnant. It flushes everything out.

Depends. you can get medicine from docs but that's not necessarily good, coz it can just mask the problem. When you're off it, it could just return again.

Keeping a food diary might help you find out what specific food causes it. It's not necessarily always asian foods, coz plenty of non asians suffer from it and they tend to have milder foods.

Don't want to cause alarm but if it's really persistent see a doctor, in case it's something more serious. I've known of ppl to have developed ulcers and they thght it was just heartburn.

i think i told you i rarely have fast food. Had pizza yesturday after the second slice i couldn't eat any more, neither could my husband and he has a huge appetite. I think we've gotten used to home cooked foods, our palates can't handle fast foods anymore. :?

A few months back i was craving for a bag of fish and chips english style, i ate a quarter of the pack, then felt sick. So it can't be the food, must be me Sad
