u can forgive, u can love thy neighbour jew/muslim, but trust is on some next level.. especially when leaders of the nations involved do not trust the rest of the world..

No Khan, if someone says they don't trust Jews, or bear any similiar ill-will, I do keep it in mind and it does impact the effect their other statements have on me. It doesn't make me distrusting, it has them be untrustworthy by choice. And Khan, can you see that a trusting person will take Sharon's comment at face value as meaning pretty much what I say, that Israel has a right to defend itself as it seeks peace, regardless, but that a cynic will take it as some kind of a snub to the world?

It does to the people who get involved and discuss matters the way we do. At least it promotes clarity, even if there are still hostilities. But I accept the climate and the political realities some are dead committed to stand in the way. I would say, do it regardless, like suffragettes, like Gandhi, like Mohammed (or whoever is inspiring! Guess I can't truthfully say he's my role model but I'm sure that's something Muslims can look at).

I mean you're stuck on distrust. Not everyone has that and it's plain for all to see. You nurture it and find it wherever you can, to make you feel better and be correct. So there's someone you felt you can never forgive, going back some.

OK. Abraham wasn't a Muslim either. Categorically. If you want to call him one retrospectively, I submit he was also Jewish, and that all Jews today are also Muslim. Probably we are the one sect that will be saved!

I am sorry if my last responses have upset anyone. I have sent an e-mail on the subject to some Imams and will probably not be commenting on this matter until I receive a reply. Meanwhile, khan, I request you check your tongue, you can at least consider it possible that my goodwill and that Jews are not as described in those verses, and that this is important.
