Hi!

What are we calling "Ages," a week, a month, a year... several years?

I've always been curious about people who join after checking out the forum for ages...

Hi - thanks for the welcome.

'ages' being a couple of hours - typical of me to exaggerate!. As i said it was an accident at first, but having read some of the posts there is generally a positive vibe in here and it was something that interested me - as all religion does. I am not here to cause controversy or 'spy' though!! - Ithink it will be educational, interesting and fun. As i can read posts and see what your beliefs are based on, please feel free to ask me any such questions if you wish.

As you can see i havent got the hang of the 'quoting' thing yet either !

You're not a spy!?

...clearly your not the one the agency said I'm supposed to contact then... Just pretend we never met...

So anyway... you said I could ask you about what you believe. So...

Why do you hate Jesus?

'Ages' is officially something I find too long to wait for.

for air ages could be just a few seconds. For the plague it would be millenia. For buses anything longer than it takes me to get to the bus stop.

I define ages based on meals. If I missed breakfast it is "a long time" if I miss lunch too I am "starving" and if I missed dinner also then I "haven't eaten in ages"

you the problem with that is that it makes it harder to moan and complain properly.

You have to miss breakfast lunch and dinner before you can have a good old whine.

I like whining. It helps me gauge others' reactions. I sometimes even use it as an ice breaker.

Why do you hate Jesus?

Where did you get this from? because i am on the forum?

I dont hate Jesus - I was brought up 'Christian' - church of England - but then most of my family are not religious and went to church for special events only (weddings/funerals) . Once i found out how the CofE was formed i decided that there was no 'truth' in it (the CofE specifically)and pretty much rejected the idea of following CofE (around age 12/13). I dont follow any religion as such - but i do live my life by my own rules rather than anything prescribed by a formal religion - Although not fenced by formality i would consider myself to have high morals (of course its subjective you guys would probably object to my saying that given what you would consider to be 'high morals' based on the teachings) - I have 1 or 2 bad habits but havent done a lot wrong, and dont harm others . What Im trying to say is that i would consider myself to generally be a good person and know right from wrong, and keep certain standards ( that involve relationships/the way i treat people etc as organised religion does) - although i am far from perfect....
I do find Im asking myself questions all the time such as ' why are we here, what happens when we leave this earth' etc etc - which religion can often provide answers to - but not having that i am left to ponder - thats would be a great benefit i would have from following a religion.

I dont hate Jesus - I believe he existed but not that he was the son of god - perhaps just an eccentric holyman - why did you assume i did?

This might be... the single most hateful, mean-hearted and just flat out nasty rant I've ever read... I just don't even know what to say... You should be ashamed of yourself! I'm not saying you have to be a Christian or anything... but what did Jesus ever do to make you hate him this much? I think you really need to chill out...

Someday I hope somebody melts your cold, hard, atrophied heart - Do you know how a heart atrophies gerard? Because it's not being used... that's how.

You think about that...

I'll pray for you...

Now i am really confused - You use very strong words in your message - i dont understand where you get the idea i hate jesus from ?!? I dont hate anyone - and havent posted any comments that even refer to Jesus ?! please explain what you mean....

or are you 'messing with my head'?!

can we continue this in a new topic?

This topic is to welcome new members, a welcome message, some salutations and that is it.

After that moer discussion should be in a new topic.

.....done....

Oh sweet lord.... Dave mate i certainly dont wanna be in YOUR shoes right about now.

erm....

Hello Mrs JayBunny.... how is one today? Dave is a charming young fellow whose always harping on about how much he adores his 3 girls (i presume he's refering to the Mrs and the twins) I have no reservation as to his sincerity and genuine affection for his quaint little family.

We would certainly enjoy a comparative view of reality from what Dave tells us.

God Bless everyone

assalamu alaikum everyone,

I am a 21 yr old scottish revert from london, i became muslim 1 year and 1 week ago alhamdulillah! i work in a law firm in central london (very posh...) and live in willesden in NW london (NOT very posh!)

i have been reading this forum for afew months now and it always very interesting dealing with a lot of topics (serious ones and sometimes quite silly!) also there are certainly some very strong characters here (i feel i know you all so well already LOL i just realised that sounds so ridiculous!)

anyway, im hoping to marry a malaysian girl in the summer inshAllah, we'v been friends since college 3 yrs ago so please make du'aa that is easy for us!!!

i have a very supportive group of friends, we have a big gathering every 2 weeks for the sake of Allah, and discuss various issues, support each other, recite Qur'an and learn about the meanings, and have a FAT munch at the end!! it very nice, a mixture of reverts and born Muslims from all over the world: UK, Pakistan, Algeria, Spain, Phillipines, Belgium, Bangladesh, Egypt, Kazakhstan, India, Singapore, Turkey, Indonesia, Poland, Italy, South Africa etc etc etc

Thats pretty much all there is to say, except that my fav chocolate is kinder bueno....closely followed my snickers

thanks for reading (blatantly NOONES still reading this by now!)

w'salam w.w.

Don't just do something! Stand there.

Now I'm going to get paranoid... who else has been watching me for months...

*casts suspicious glare at window*

Right, well, my condolences to you for working at a law firm. I wouldn't wish that on anybody... nor would I wish Scottish weather on anybody but I've gotta have some pride for the fatherland so aden go bragh!

Anyway!

Welcome to the forum, my name is Dave. I'm the resident psycho... take everything I say very seriously, that's my first tidbit of wisdom.

Other than that, best of luck with the gal! Enjoy the forum and you have your self a spectacular day.

I'm going to class... where I will be miserable for the next 8 hours. Then I come home Biggrin

Oh... and watch out for Sirus... I don't want to get into any details but...

Well anyway, Best of the best and all that.

Ciao bello!

wa3laykum salaam, welcome to the forum, i suppose there's no need to issue any warnings as you know what to expect, having 'observed' us for a few months lol. thank you for the introduction, usually Mez has to force it out of the newbies. (j/k mez! ;)) that's quite a diverse bunch of friends you have at your halaqa mashaAllah, if only all halaqas would be as interesting as that.

aanyway, happy posting!
