Those wo may not know, I have been member for some time. I was absent because of Muharram ceremonies. I was doing matam and could not come here.

I am a Shia Muslim by faith. That means I believe in Allah, Prophet and 12 Imams.

Salaam Bro and welcome to the forum.

I hope you don't mind, but I'm curious about the Muharram ceremonies you mentioned. Could you please explain more about what you mean by 'doing matam'. I saw some stuff on TV about it, and I've heard some people talk about it, but nothing from a shia themself. I wasn't even aware of it untill a few months ago and I don't really know much about it or understand it. Jazaakhallah in advance.

I do it in saddness of Imam Hussain (AS) grandson of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Imam Hussain was slaughtered by caliph Yazeed in 680.

A little (well a lot) more generic than what I had initially demanded, but well maybe I was a little strict in my demands?

Simple rules for his return were:

1. Avoid Aqeedah issues.
2. apologise.
3. No goading.
4. Awareness that others will have things to say

He agreed.

I have given everyone else many chances, so I thought may as well give him a second one too. It's not as if we are perfect.

I don’t know about you guys, I am getting a green tree and decorating it with ornaments and lights, and wait all night for saint Abdullah to show up

I will get the nephews and nieces together and we will go out and sing anasheeds

we will exchange gifts and do all sorts of fun things
