Well you can't force Islam on people There is no compulsion in religion, compulsion and religion are incompatible.

You do know a qadi can sentence a person to death for not praying... if all the conditions have been met ofcourse.

OK MuslimBro, you can stop playing around now. We are under the obligation to not push people away from Islam, and not force people to pray. Becasue religion and compulsion are incompatible.

Playing around?... don't make me laugh. I am merely stating the facts.

I am not forcing anyone, if someone chooses not to pray after knowing the consequences then that's upto them and Allah.

Going off a tangent... apostasy.

Yes, we all know the punishment for that is death. Why?

From all I have read, the only times it was used that way originally was at times of war - when soldiers would refuse to fight.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

I do not why, but here's how the fuqaha have interpreted the evidence for missing out prayers.

The position of the overwhelming majority of scholars is that intentionally leaving prayers, though a major sin, is not unbelief unless accompanied by denial of the obligation of praying. [Mawsu`a Fiqhiyya; Radd al-Muhtar; Majmu`]

THanks - will read later.

We are advocating moderate leniency and compassion which Islam encourages.

In life, not in the role of a judge - who has to follow the letter, simply because is some cases (not this), leniency would no longer be just.

The reason that Adultery is punished harshly is that Family is an important concept and if a player wants out of a marriage, it is easy. You do not have to give up half your property, future earnings or things of the like.

I am sorry, but I have not seen any reason being cited to give lenience. Other than "it's the Islamic way, innit?"

It might be, but it needs a stronger advocacy than that.

(I have even given examples of better arguments! Another one: Do the hudood punishments apply to such a desensitized place?)

This argument is utterly futile since the deed has been done and we do not have full details.

It could have either been a 13 year old wrongly murdered. Or it could have been a 23 year old who actually did meet the criteria. Who knows?

Not just the letter, but also the spirit. Many scholars including the ones from Al Azar have pointed out the conditions for hudood are VERY high, plus mercy is encouraged, remorsefulness negates the full punishment, but not the conviction, according to some scholars. You cannot blame a judge for not applying the top punishment when not all the conditions have been fulfilled.
Hey, if you don't want to carry this on, then that's fine by me. I just want to let you know, that I don't agree with you here, but let's not let that be an excuse to hate each other.

Here's something on apostasy with the evidence included.

Well, here's THREE examples of counter evidence. You'll have to scroll down a bit.

I should give my credit to Beast who took the trouble, quite some time back to get hold of this.

I try not to hate.

It is ok to disagree, but I wanted a stronger reason for the disagreement than I felt was originally give.

Sorry for being a nuisance.
