A SINGLE CHANCE FOR PARADISE

A single chance for paradise
It is the only one you'll get
Far too precious to be wasted
Because one day you shall regret
All those years that you neglected
Your Qur'an, your salaat, your fast
And then you will crumple, shedding tears
For all the hours that slipped past

All of those times you tossed away
Hundreds of chances for reward
Those dire warnings from your parents

Many Muslims go on holiday around Europe or other parts of the non-Muslim world... and they all suffer the same dilemmas:

-Where can I pray?
-Is there any halal food here?
-All the other problems anyone else going on holiday ever faces.

So, what I'm proposing, no, what I'm DEMANDING, is a central hub or source for Muslim holiday makers.

It can start as a website, similar to lonely planet, where anyone can post their tips/info for each country/city - especially places where there aren't big Muslim populations, so finding halal may be difficult.

Once it becomes an international internet phenomenum, it can be released as a handy guide book, updated every year.

While sitting on the microbus (only 10p to ride, but no oyster card system; I'm not sure if this means its better than London or not...) I started thinking about a far-off, fantasy world (as I often do)...but suddenly, it came more and more 'alive' inside my mind:

Characters, islands, history, all part of this 'made up universe'

Specific scenes developed, and slowly an overall plot formed.

Later on in the day, I was walking around town (lost), and I was thinking more and more about this...In my opinion it has the potential for a 'proper' story, like a novel.

So should I start to write it? Or is this a big waste of time, which I will give up on in a few weeks and then find the file on my computer and be hopelessly embarrassed of?

Another crazy non-Islamic holiday celebrated by many in the west. All part of the holiday fever as we get that much closer to Christmas.

So the celebration of Halloween with its ghosts, goblins, lions, tigers and bears (oh my). So the dilemma how to handle it? Do we shun it, avoid it, stick it in a pan and serve it?? Or do we take part in the "fun"???

Qu'ran references force worldwide LittleBigPlanet recall

Sony has confirmed that it is delaying the release of LittleBigPlanet and recalling the game from retailers worldwide because it has identified "two expressions that can be found in the Qu'ran" in one of the background songs.

The publisher has told Eurogamer that this means every copy of the game currently with retail in the world will be recalled and replaced, and retailers have started notifying customers of the hold-up.

Assalamu-alaikum is the great greeting Muslims use whenever they meet on another. It’s a greeting that translates as ‘Peace be upon you’. Its a shortened form of the grander greeting: Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh (Peace be unto you and so may the mercy of Allah and His blessings). Aint that cool? It may also interest you to know it’s the greeting of the Angels in heaven.

The common response to a greeting of Assalamu-alaikum is Wa Alaikum as-Salam which means ‘And upon you be peace’. Which you gotta admit is better than greeting your friends with ‘Sup’… which is short for ‘wats up?’ which I believe is slang for ‘hows things?’ and then you would probably reply with 'nothing, watchn the game. Sup with u?'
