Genealogy software to visualize extended family tree

Es selaam,

Since my wife joined a famous online social network few months ago she has re-connected with nearly 200 family members all around the globe.
Her family can be traced back 36 generations but far from all branches of the family tree have been mapped. Especially not the female side of the extended family. The later generations got scattered across borders, a process that has intensified the past decades as life under the post colonial regimes pushed people out of their ancestral regions to find refuge and better opportunities around the globe.

Dock truants' child benefit, ministers urged

Parents of children in England who persistently truant should have their child benefit cut, according to a key government adviser on school behaviour.

Behaviour tsar Charlie Taylor says unpaid truancy fines should be recovered directly from child-benefit payments in a crackdown on absenteeism.

The latest figures show 400,000 children were persistently absent from England's schools in the past year and missed about one month of school each.

Has anyone on here touched the black stone?

A couple of weeks ago, I was blessed to visit Makkah & Madina to perform Umrah and see the amazing sights...
It was really beautiful, but I noticed that whilst we were doing Tawaf, all the men had literally attached themselves to the black stone, and other men were pushing and fighting from behind to touch the Black Stone. I really wanted to touch it too,(like, who wouldn't?) but couldn't get near to that corner, in fear of gettting squashed by big, tall and strong men, who get really emotional aand push anyone who gets in their way. My dad and I had always seperated during Tawaf, and I couldn't even use him as a shield to get ahead.

Ridda Wars, The Sahaba's forced Islam on people

The Ridda wars also known as the Wars of Apostasy, were a series of military campaigns launched by the Caliph Abu Bakr against rebel Arabian tribes during 632 and 633 AD, just after Mohammed died.

The concentrations of rebels nearest Medina were located in two areas: Abraq, 72 miles north-east of Medina, and Dhu Qissa, 24 miles east of Medina.

These concentrations consisted of the tribes of Banu Ghatafan, the Hawazin, and the Tayy. Abu Bakr sent envoys to all the apostate tribes, calling upon them to remain loyal to Islam and continue to pay their Zakat.

The caliph formed 11 main corps, each under its own commander.

A standard was given to each corps.

Writers required- The Revival mag online

The Revival Magazine print version is currently on hold and now we are hoping to launch an on-line magazine.

So we are in need of regular writers for the on-line mag.

If you are a writer or have strong views on issues facing Muslims today then why not get on board with the revival- we do aim to represent the voice of the Muslim youth.

Send me a PM or an email to: if interested.
