Female circumcision halal?

The topic of female circumcision has always been controversial and commonly accepted as being a cultural practice and considered haram as it mutilates the woman. A lot of this has been perpetuated by the media and the anti Islamic sentiments it often flames.

A discussion is taking place based on Islamic evidences on this very important topic which u can view and participate in. Please note that some people are very strongly of the opinion that it is halal, and some islamic schools of thought consider it FARDH for this action to take place. Intrigued?

"A new type of genetically-modified crop containing human genes is reportedly set to get the go-ahead for commercial production.
A type of rice has been developed which produces human proteins similar to those found in breast milk and saliva, say reports.

According to the Daily Mail, US firm Ventria Bioscience claims it could be used to treat children with diarrhoea, which remains a major killer in Third World countries.
The rice, branded a "Frankenstein food" by its critics, represents the first time genes of human origin have been blended with those from plants."

Beard/hijab/niqab

I would have searched this forum to verify whether this topic has been rasied before or not, but i will not search each page for hours for that purpose !!!

Anyhow,

How many males sport a ful beard ?

How many females would ever wear a Niqab or already do ?

I always sense that much more onus is put on women to conform to wearing hijab/niqab and general rules of islam than muslim males in general.....Agree?

Or is this cultural ?

If the answer to the above questions is "No" then why is that?
Fear, Shyness, Weakness, or religious understanding !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A new radio station which claims to be the first in the UK to be run jointly by Muslims and Jews will make history Thursday night when it begins broadcasting for the first time.
