Attitudes to Disability: Islam, the West & the M.East

I linked to this in my latest blog, but I'm not sure how many people wll bother reading that, so you might miss it! I think it's worth a read, so that's why I'm creating this topic to bring it to people's attention, incase I hadn't already. Personally, it gave me an insight into the way disabled people were treated but the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) and I liked it because it's not something that's discussed a lot and so I learnt something new. Smile

14yr old shot by Pakistan's Taliban, for activism

I don't understand. Is there any reason (excuse) at all, for this?!! Why would anyone who has committed a crime here be sent to the US? :S

Turkey bombs Syria

They are incapable of feeling and having a conscience and they are in curable. So what is there purpose on life? :S

You need a conscience and emotions to worship Allah and live according to Islam, so how are they being judged? They are just doing whatever they want because they can and they have no fear of consequences or no concept of love.

Hmm maybe they will get rewarded for something good they do without even understanding it, just because they're ill and there's no other way for them to be.

Full time Islamic Studies or Arabic course

Does anyone know of any Islamic studies or Arabic courses which are *not* online and take place in Birmingham? By full time time I mean preferebly taking place *during the day* and 5x times week/ 3x week or whatever.

If you know of any institutions which offer full time courses, please share the details, jazakAllah Smile

Basically everyday you post one new thing you learnt. (or more)
It should short and simple to understand and no long copy and pastes.
If you've watched a really good vid then summarise it an post the link, if you've read an article summarise it and post the link or share a bit of it or something.
But try to put things in your own words. That should help reinforce the messages in your own mind, and not be off-putting to anyone who sees something long.

Saudi Arabia to allow women to compete in 2012 Olympics
