Are Muslims in the US the victims of another McCarthy-type witch hunt?

For the first time in US history, at least 15 states have either approved or introduced bills banning sharia law.

These bills may make it a crime for Muslims to fast, pray, or even donate to charity. And on Thursday, in a move that many critics deem unconstitutional, congressional hearings chaired by Peter King, the Republican representative, will begin examining the so-called radicalisation within the American Muslim community.

After the Kings Speech stutter/stammering is an issue that is under discussion...

The Revival is working on an article on this issue, so your thoughts will be helpful

does anybody here stutter?

do you know anyone who stammers?

do ppl feel its from birth?

do you stutter if you have a traumatic upbringing? eg parents shout at you alot/slap you etc

what do people think of speech therapists?

does anybody know anyone who had a bad stammer but now is cured?

Can stammering really be cured?

does stammering affect your confidence? if so how does one overcome it?

The much awaited sequel to East is East is out.

Anyone seen it?

What did you make of East is East?

Do you think such films are important in highlighting issues such as identity/religion/culture that British Asian Muslims face today?

Or do you think they do more damage than good?

Or should it just be seen as a funny film- and thats it?

Or should we NOT WATCH IT and stay away as its all UnIslamic?

British gay Muslims are joining the global fight for equality and seeking gay Islamic marriage. The BBC's 5 live Investigates speaks to one couple about their 'nikah' - a Muslim matrimonial contract - and asks how they balance their sexuality with the Islamic faith.

"We met about three years ago, at an iftar - a breaking of fast during Ramadan.

"I think a lot of Muslims find that time of year very spiritual and very enlightening, and so I think that's why our relationship developed, because we spoke about our faith."

"Eventually we went on a date."

Since the month eof Rabbi ul Awwal has started we will see many Mawlid gatherings across the country.

Now do you take part in Milaad/Mawlid gatherings?

Do you attend em at the masjids or have your own gatherings at home?

Or do you agree with milaad but dont really take part in any mawlid gatherings?

Or do you simply think its all wrong and stay away from them!

1 in 10 Britons Will Be Muslim

One in ten Britons will be Muslim within the next two decades. So says the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life.

There will be some wriggling on seats about this demographic projection. But what there won't be is enough serious consideration of how secular Britain must meet Islam half-way in the UK.

What do I mean by this?

Let me start by saying that I grew up in Britain's most Islamic city.
