It doesn't matter what the young generations outlook is regarding beating there wives the fact remains that the Quran has allowed the husband to beat his wife or wives
What you are quoting there is a translation/interpretation from the qur'an as it is generally translated/interpreted.
That means beating your wife is allowed in Islam
That quote doesn't mention beating :S

Lollywood, mate, have we not really disproved what you've wriiten as a mistranslation? I think we have and with all due respect, you're making this topic run out of steam. Pure and simple.

You’re in denial
The Quran allows men to beat their wifes QURAN 4:34 - "Men have authority over women because God has made the one superior to the other

Lollywood, with respect, if you want to continue this argument then you should read what has actually been argued and said. So far you haven't.
I will leave you with a quote from the Prophet (pbuh): "Even the morsel you feed your wife is an act of worship." (Bukhari and Muslim).
“and live with them honourably. If you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing and Allaah brings through it a great deal of good”
(Sura Nisa 4:19)
The Prophet's view of wife beating was made very clear when he described it as animal like, surely only an idiot will say that he understands the Quran more than the Prophet Muhammad?
