The whole idea is to not let things get that far.

Some people will be evil and nothing will stop them, but others may not go down the same line. and not all people involved in such things go all the way to rape.

You have to ask yourself why are those people out there, dating, drinking etc. and address the underlying issues. the answer to atleast some is that they want to act on their lust and the islamic solution to that is marriage.

true..i would hate to think the state of mind someones must be in to commit a crime like that and for tht person to get married...creepy..

I think it's horrible that these men use excuses like this, but it has been said that Jack Straw is an idiot and most of what he says is complete rubbish. This is stupid, you can't say someone rapes because of their culture; they rape becasue they are sick and they are criminals. Simple.

no one has a right true, but isn't she encouraging sexual crime by walking around naked? People should take some responsibility, every action will lead to a certain outcome. Unfortunately these days its all about "fun" "living for the moment" not thinking about the consequences.

yes, it would encourage sexual crime and i wouldnt recommend it, no way...but it annoys me when people say 'she deserved it, blah blah' because no-one deserves something like thtt to happen to them, whatever the circumstances. rape is imo possible the worst thing that can happen to you, so it shouldnt be taken so light-heartedly...

I cant believe some of the comments on here

are you honestly saying that if a woman is uncovered she's more likely to be raped???
shame on you all

Rape is not necessarily about sexual urges or sexual oppressions.
During war and invasion, men will (and have done) rape women to exert their physical power over them
and most rape victimes will KNOW their rapists
so you cant say its just about some random men seeing a beatuiful woman walking around half dressed and then deciding to rape her because he cannot control himself

women all around the world can be raped. EVEN in islamic coutnries where there is segregation and women are wearing hijabs
the only difference is that here in teh West, women are more likely to report it, Whereas in teh East, it's a matter of honour and shame.

once again
men get away with everything

early marrige is not the answer
many asian men marry young
BUT
still go out and have girls on the side

these disgusting men did not rape those girls because they werent married and desperately wanted sex

that is simplifying the problem
and brushing it under the carpet

the underlying issue is that community and families are at fault
why are these men going out late at night
why aren't their parents keeping an eye on them
they're more concerned with locking up their own daughters but letting their soon lose on the streets because men have "needs" and it doesnt matter to them that theyve gone out and done something wrong.

Also

I heard of a case where a Pakistani guy got a mixed girl pregnant
I dunno if it was rape or consentual sex
Anyway
she was half Pakistani and half White
the boy was brought in front of the girls father and he said
"im sorry I didnt know she was Muslim/Pakistani"

these men have no respect for anyone

they see non muslim women or white women as easy targets
and thats disgusting

we as muslims go on about how women are to be treated with respect
but apparently
its only selective respect

Im just shocked
and quite upset

ir4m, are you sure you don't just hate men full stop?

LOL

no

well

to be honest
it's very hard not to hate men sometimes

Only if you decide to stereotype people by the worst examples that you can find.

The overall issue is more than one of rape - it is also one of "easy meat" and that can be solved by encouraging marriage.

Or the other way, which is more likely is that girls and guys will both be having pre marital relationships and this will only be hidden through victorian style hypocrisy.

We may already even be there already.

Such a thing requires stats to back it up or to take it down.

I would say this is a law and order issue.

People generally do what they think they can get away with.

Which may actually mean that such crimes are MORE common in the Muslim world where women are more likely to be covered. The crimes would just be covered up or less likely to be reported.

(and no I do NOT think that it is shameful that soeone brought this up. Very clearly some are of this opinion and just shouting it down wonly stops it being discussed, but does not show any falsehood or truth in it, nor does it limit the number of people who hold the view.)
