if you dont see the spider going into your mouth, and if its already in you belly when you wake up, how is that scary?

even though i have a phobia of them.

Well said.

It depends on how scary you find the thought of millions of spider eggs hatching inside your belly, and then the babies crawling out of your nose and ears the following week.

Don't just do something! Stand there.

I cant see it. So i dont find that scary.

but I remember reading one of those moral stories once. Where this guy killed any spider that came its way. One day it killed a pregnant spider. And then all the baby spiders came and crawled inside the guy. And everytime this guy hicupped a spider came out. Lol

Okay, i would find that a bit hmmm.

Surviving secondary school. That's my personal Jihad.

is secondary school that bad for you?

Well, I have survived. I'm actually at college, by the way. It was an inner-city state school, and you know it is hard being a guy in that environment.

I find it much easier to get up for fajr these days even though its so much more earlier, weird isnt it? or does anyone else find that too?

I think its cuz the longer you're asleep the lasier u get as i find it easier to get out of bed at like 9 then when i wake up at llike 11 - it can take me upto an hour to get out of bed then!

but having 6 hours or less isnt that god for my body i guess, im going to strat trying to go to sleep earlier Smile

Is it why?

I need discipline.

sleeping on the floor is better for your back than a mattress, only put some bedding down you need some cushioning. Only in the west do they have these thick mattresses that claim to do all sorts of wonders...orthopedic, back support, anti roll...so does that mean i can't roll off my bed, some sort of invisible barrier?

I started getting back problems when i got pregnant, it was so bad i began putting some bedding on floor and sleeping there instead. After pregnancy back problems didn't get any better. Midwife said could be months before i can be seen by a specialist. So I Purchased a new mattress thinking that was the problem but didn't work. My hub has always slept on floor he only started using a bed when he got married because his sister said it would not do to have a wife sleep on the floor lol. So we've thrown the mattress out, modified the bed frame so it's flat and solid like the floor. We sleep on that, back problems no more. So in laws think we sleep on a regular bed coz we have kept the frame, they don't know there's no mattress. If my folks knew they would think my husband wasn't taking care of me.

Waking up for Fajr top tip: Get yourself a flying alarm clock, they seem to be popular. You have to get up and catch the clock it whizzes round the room sounds cool! http://www.boysstuff.co.uk/product.asp?id=13583

“O my people! Truly, this life of the world is nothing but a (quick passing) enjoyment, and verily, the hereafter that is the home that will remain forever.” [Ghafir : 39]

I thought cool to the flying alarm clock idea til I watched the video:

Now, that is annoying. I would prefer an alarm that sounds like a soft lullaby putting my gently to sleep...

If the sound is too annoying, any alarm clock can end up flying, but I suspect replacing a broken window costs quite a bit of money.

I one bought one of those wind up clocks in my room when younger - the ones that go TICK TOCK TICK TOCK - and after one night, I used to place it outside my window. Too annoying to keep inside.

I would find a flying clock extremely annoying, dont like the idea at all! just put ur alarm somewhere away from the bed so u have to get out of bed to take it off!

I got up this morning and was ready for a nice, easy slow start, I would get to work almost an hour early...

THEN I realised that the clocks went forward in Syria LAST night so I had to rush to work to make it - I was only 5/10 mins late to class!

Don't just do something! Stand there.

I think its 10 at least.

but anyhoo....i dont knw what my jihad is for sure. I guess its trying to better myself as a muslim/person and just keep doing it till im happy with the results and I think anything else comes under that too.

I had to wake my mum up for Fajr today. (partying isnt what it was when u get older Blum 3 )pretty funny actually

"Verily, in the remembrance of Allah, do hearts find rest"

@Fajr: i just pray really really really really really really hard to Allah to help me wake up.

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

Or u could set an alarm...

multiple alarms. Each one breaks you out one level of sleep. and then you can sleep in your sleep in your sleep and as long as you have enough alarms to trigger you to wake up, you will.

As a quick primer in this method, watch inception.

yup. i use the multiple alarm method. need to watch inception though...

I've pressed the snooze button so many times, I've forgotten how many times I have pressed it.
