I thought last nights Q&A show was really really good mashallah.
Shayke Salim Ghisa is sooo good mashallah. He is so fluent in all his answers no matter what the question, and I love the way he gives really straight answers but explains them really well. This was my favourite show last year and so far this year too, also it's the one I learn the most from. If it's so popular and you get so many questions what about having a couple of Q&A shows next time?
I listened til just before 1 when I lost my internet connection just as the shayke was answering the question about whether we're allowed to shake hands with the opposite sex at interviews etc... and I really wanted to hear that answer!! It was a shame about the show starting late though!
Ed you did really well presenting, you had a huge chunk to fill what with the show starting late which most normal people would find really difficult but I think you did well. I would have taken the easy option though and just played nasheeds til the shayke arrived, lol, but people ringing in really helped mashallah, I had a feeling the first caller was either MS or LilSis - mashallah for calling in.
I think you promoted The Revival really well on the show but normally you hardly mention it. I don't think it's always clear that the show is part of The Revival so I think you should definitely plug it a bit more so more people get involved.
Apart from the delay with the actual question and answers beginning I think the show was really good mashallah!
you was excellant ed, very funny i must say. u had me in stiches. the questions were answered very well but the show was, well lets say a little too open for my liking. promotion wise, you coudn't have promoted the revival anymore than u did.

whats tommorows show all about?
tonights show is about zakat
q&a on zakat with sh salim ghisa... star at 10.30 till 12ish... then probably have Q & A for an hour...
regarding the show being 'too open', i take it u are referring to questions about sex/sexual acts etc.... asu know there is no taboo in Islam and we should be allowed to ask any question without embarrsment or shame...

i was talking on behalf of 5 other sisters as well as myself. some may get put of. anyway, that's all the question and answer sessions seem to be out. out of the 300 texts u get i'm sure there are other questions relating to other topics so how about answering those?

yeah i agree with Ed why do muslims always get embrassed when sex is being discussed, if anything the muslim population need educating more then the non muslim population. As for the point of getting ppl to call in i think the problem might be with the timing of the show. It does go on till late and ppl are tried from fasting all day and reading taraweeh and have either work/college or uni in the morning. Plus most of the kids that tune into your show still live at home and if there parents catch them ringing or textin really late at night they aint gonna be best please. Im guessing the ones that do there parents dont have a clue.
1. from the 300 texts or so we had most were on this issue eg sex/marraige etc
2. all the questions i asked were from text messages or emails from listners
3. the show was from 11.30 till 2am! so no kids awake and if ppl dont know what islam says about these issue show else are they suppose to find out???
4. no taboo in islam, even sisters/mothers etc should know the answers to these kind of issues so they can educate themselves , their husbands etc
5. our shows works because of the time it comes on plus we arent afraid to talk about anything lol
6. most ppl that text or phone are over 18 and who have independence to call or text when they want
7. alot of ppl listen in their cars, taxis or on their mobile radios, internet etc....
anyway... i can understand why ppl may feel a bit unconfortable with certain issues...
but do tune in tonight...
tommorrows show is about Police, and saturday is about Marriage!
shaykh salim went through everything to do with zakat mashallah...
tonights show is on the Police

Last year I suggested that you have a podcast of some of your (interesting) conversations bcoz some people may have missed the shows.... like me.
Don't think it's gonna happen this year but maybe you can do this next year?
I really wanted to tune in yesterday but well, what can I say. It seems to be working now, there's a cute boy singing something in urdu which I can't understand. Anyway will be off for taraweeh but will try and tune in later InshaAllah.
Ive noticed you get offended too quick maybe its something you could work on this ramzan (just a suggestion). The comment wasn’t specifically targeted at you. To me i see anybody younger then me as a kid. If i didn’t know you were at college i would have guessed your age at 15/16 (dont get offended im just being honest). Some ppl just sound more mature for their age then others.
I have been a critic of the revival and mashal radio in past, but credit where it's due. Hands down, without doubt you have made a difference well done to all you guys. I'm glad Ed don't know who I am in real life yet, because he would make me eat my words!
Carry on brothers. I do dua that you succeed!

lol at 15/16, you're the first person to ever say that and probably will be the last. congratulations.

He was very negative about the police force. I sent two emails and was being positive about the police force and my email wasn't read so I logged off.
