any tips on waking up for Fajr? With 'Isha being so late and all, I find waking up for fajr really hard.
You could do everything before isha, and when isha time comes in just pray isha and go straight to bed.
If that fails then you could always stay up until fajr.

This might help the original questioner...
When you start salat, you do takbeer - it's termed takbeer al-ihraam, indicating you are making the world forbidden for yourself and entering a spiritual realm, between you and the creator.
We will enter this realm again on the day of judgement, when nothing will be accepted; we will undertake many prostrations, prayers...all to no avail!
When one finishes prayer, they give salam to the right and left - greeting the world they are back...
That should help to improve focus and concentration when you are alone with Allah.

Jazakallah for your advice

Understand what your reading in namaaz by learning the translation of all the sections in the namaaz you read. this has helped me, Allahamdolillah.
Dont go straight into your namaz, take a few seconds to relax and forget your tensions, and think this is my time with Allah SWT now!
Theres a hadith about doing wudu in concentration so that your salah is in concentration. (a good practice to have).
When you recite do not recite in your head and keep your
lips still and shut, instead kind of whisper to yourself. This also stops you from rushing, but rather it makes you focus on your words.
I hope this helps all inn shaaa Allah, including me!
Jzk, for making me think about this important aspect.
(May Allah SWT forgive me for any mistakes, Ameen)

I used to have the same problem, but ive found something that really helps.
often we don't concentrate simply because we might not understand what we are saying (in my case anyway) so i found that by learning the meanings of things such as surah fatiha and other things in namaz i could concentrate by trying to remember what it meant as i was praying. Hope this helps!!

before u start prayin remind urself wat you doing and who u are standing before
Remember you are having a conversation with your lord!
pray your Salah has your last imagine the Angel Of Death behind you, Jannah on ur right and Jahanam on ur left and infront of you the Ka'ba..
Before you pray ur Salah do some dhikr maybe that will help!

Also what the above post to this one said,if you understand what you are praying its easier to concentrate and you are much more focused.
Your own soul is nourished when you are kind; it is destroyed when you are cruel.
