why u so happy? do u want ramadan to end? weird boy.

anyway, subhaan'Allah, today's recitation at tarweeh was amazing, not rushed at all.
so there’s me enjoying it, then comes surah yaseen, just as the hafiz starts reciting these women praying behind me decide that they wana be the imam and they start reciting surah yaseen really loud! argh it was so annoying! they did this throughout the surah and even through witr! Astagfirullah I felt like breaking my salah and telling them to shut up!

im with seraphim on this one. This ramzan been real hard, not so much the going without food ( i can go without food for days) but the lack of sleep. Normally there is this really good vibe and atmosphere but seems to be lacking this year.
@Noor if your enjoying ramzan that much why dont you fast on a permanent basis Biggrin

This Ramadan has been sooo hard. Ive never had a problem with it before. Dunno whats the matter. Ive become sooo irritable its frightening.

Maybe its got to do with my work load... (the LPC can be soooo demanding). But i keep telling myself theres only another 2 weeks to go... im counting the days.

We have spoken.

Makaveli you make me laugh. Blum 3 But I ain't thinking nothing dodgy about you so it's all good.

Hhhmm I too have felt the atmosphere seems to be lacking this Ramadan. It seems to get worse and worse each year, which is really worrying.

I was talking about this to my sister who said she thought the same, but she said it's probably because we don't have as much Muslim company around us like we used to when we were at school and going to mosque or urdu class. That's probably true, but I think it's more than that. Even in my house or when we go over to our relatives it doesn't really feel like Ramadan. Even though not many people in my family pray or even fast, there was still always an atmosphere.

Could it be it's just part of growing up, kind of how Eid doesn't seem to be that big a deal anymore... unfortunately.

it really depends on the suhba you keep, if you're surrounded by people who are in the constant zhikr of Allah (swt) you're gona feel spiritually charged and vice versa. that's the sole reason why subha is stressed in islam so much, the company we keep plays a big impact on us so if u have bad company leave it! they will only drag u down!
alhamdulilah my family/cousins and friends are practicing so i'm always surrounded by people who are constantly remembering Allah (swt) which helps load.

this year i have seen a lot of muslims not fasting and the ones who are fasting engaging in haraam act, it's like you have the whole year to do what u like with ur bf/gf and ramadan is just one month which Allah (swt) asks you to leave those acts and turn to him and many cant even do that. goes to show the state of our ummah today Sad

How do you feel Noorie. Do you think it's any less than before.

No-one around me does haram stuff as such, it's just they don't seem that affected by Ramadan coz they aren't participating as much as they should or could. I know it's also got to do with how much of an effort we as individuals are making too, we can affect the atmosphere. But only to a certain extent. I definitely can see around me that people seem to be less concerned with Ramadan this year.

ramadan is and always has been spiritual, it's us individuals who make ramadan seem the opposite due to our own doings. we don't realise how blessed this month actually is hence not making the most out of it. the pious saints before our time use to mourn the death of ramadan for 6 months praying to Allah (swt) for the acceptance of their ibaadah and for the other 6 months they would make dua to Allah (swt) asking that they may live to see the coming ramadan.
who is to say we will live to see the next ramadan?

this ramadan has been spiritual, personally i feel this month is to short, not enough hours in the day. the first 10 days or so i really, really felt the spirituality. the best time to connect to ur lord is tahjjud time, that time is too blessed and thats when you'll feel the connection.
obviously i've had my ups and downs due to many reason but allahmdulilah that's made me wana appreciate what little time of this blessed month i have more. i no i could have done waaay more ibadah than what i'm already doing now and what i initially hoped to do but khayr, inshaa'Allah next year.
Allah (swt) has blessed us with the month of shaban to train ourselves for ramadan and if we use that month wisely we would do way more in this month. another thing that drags us down is out nafs, once we've concurred our nafs and stopped being the slaves of it then only will we truly gain and appreciate the blessed months/days Allah sends.

soz, that I-m so happy prbz makes no sense but u get my drift.

No I get it, and think the same. Just not many other people do.

u sure u aint? i bet u are really init
so kissing or touching doesnt break your fast??

"ThiS WoRlD Iz A PrIsOn 4 A BeLiVeR AnD PaRaDiSe 4 A NoN-BeLiVeR.........."

but theres no point in fasting if you engage in haram acts, the prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said: if one does not give up falsehood in words and actions, God has no need of him giving up food and drink.

the whole point of a fasting is to gain taqwah not the opposite.

I feel the same way.

This Ramadan for me, has also been one of my best Ramadan's.

Health wise, its really taken its toll in me. Lost weight, exhausted and anaemic.

However, cos of the fact that there is literally no time to spare in the day - it means that I have no time to read a book, watch TV, waste time on the net, phone/visit/entertain a friend/go shopping etc etc

Its literally, work...Iftar as soon as I get home....time for Tarawih 45min after Iftar...and bed as soon as I get home at 10.30/11.00

The only regret I have this year is that I've read very little Qur'an...and been terrible with my Tahajid. I just about get up for Sehr/Fajr.

The only difference I've seen with other people's fast is that - unlike previous years. More people have been really sick this year cos of the longer fasts.

This year for some reason has been exhausting.

I'm at home now, feel tired, sleepy and have a headache but I can't go to sleep yet coz I have uni work and then have to wake up at 8 for uni.

Uni and Ramadhan so doesn't go together, personally I'm looking forward to next year as the whole of Ramadhan should be in my summer holidays. I think this Ramadhan has been alot better than last years though coz I have learnt and done things I haven't done before.

Lastly to everyone, make the most out of this month as you don't know if you'll live to experience another Ramadhan.

Once when the moon of Ramadan was seen, the Messenger (pbuh) said: “If Allah’s servants knew what Ramadan was, they would wish that it were perpetually Ramadan.”

if people are feeling sick and exhausted now, next years ramadans gona hit them big style. try fasting in mid july/june, thats when the real test comes. this years fast have been a walk in the park.

Salaam,

I’ve been quite surprised at the number of people who were not fasting this year because the fasts “were too long” or because they had a “full day at uni or work”.

Fair enough some people may have valid reasons for not being able to fast Allahu Alum, but because they have a lecture until 4 or 5?

Also can someone confirm, even if you do have a valid reason to not fast- you still have to eat secretly out of modesty right?

Wasalaam

To be beautiful is to expect nothing in return.
