Little Miss Provocative

Padded bra, hair extensions, high heels, a skimpy mini-dress, fake nails, caked on foundation…and she’s just 10 years old.

Sash Bennington is a contestant in UK first ever kiddie pageant. Her mum used to do glamour stuff and has taught her that “nobody wants to be around ugly people”.

Beauty pageants are big in the US…but apparently its catching on in the UK too.

How dodgy is this? Kids look beautiful only when they act and look according to their age…

I cant remember when this was… but a six year old pageant beauty queen was abused and murdered in the US a while ago…

What I also don’t understand is that…some families don’t have an issue with dressing their little girls in skimpy clothing…..yeh I know they’re not yet required to wear the Hijaab but why on Earth dress little girls in tiny shorts/dresses or tops that show the stomach only to forbid it later on?

In schools kids from the age of 7/8 are taught EXPLICITLY the differences between girls and boys….from year 5/6 when incorporating “multi-culturalism” into the classroom, some schools teach girls and boys in PE to shake their booty to reggae music…..

And then the government wonders why UK has the highest teen pregnancy in the whole of Europe…

It’s a weird society we live in…

what utter garbage!

however this attitude is fairly common. :?

I can't understand why Fool

IMO it does not matter what children under 7 wear, Muslim children know they can’t wear it when they are older.

you bring back a lot of memories

I think it does matter.

Why send kids mixed messages? Covering should be a gradual process...

A child's sense of innocence should be apparent. Kids should look "cute" not "sexy".

what's that?

Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.

A beauty pageant is basically a competition between people mainly based on the beauty of their physical appearance, so you know miss world and miss universe, they also have mr world.

Its all down to the parents. How the hell is a child at the age of 7 or 10 meant to no whas sexy or not!! Their meant to be into kiddies parties, barbie dolls, racing cars not hair, make-up, clothes or fashion!!!!!!

The parents are to blame.

Yep.

And so is the toy market for young girls...have you seen them Bratz dolls?

Yeah! There shocking! When i use to have dolls they use to be the plain simple type now the ones you can get have all make-up on, mini-skirts and jet straight hair!!!!

this reminds me of the "innocence" thread, children espeically young girls have lost their childhood cuteness, its so scary and worrying that little girls aged 7 getting tans and feeling like that they cant go out without wearing make up or because they dont look "sexy" enough, i was watching the Tyra Banks show and there was this little girl who thought she was fat and ugly and had eating problems at the tender age of 8

O you who believe, If you help (in the cause of) Allah, He will help you, and make your foothold firm {Surah Muhammad7}

This is just part of the porn industry.

And its a mutibillion dollar industry.

its a bit sad, toddlers are using expressions like 'cool' 'man' and they walk about like they know a lot - so i'm feeling a little threatened by toddlers but whilst they are so cute these 'grown up' kiddies it seems a shame they have to act this way

in our nursery i'm afraid we have these mini 4 year old gangster type boys and most of the 4 year old girls are wearing makeup!

we live in the uk it has many great things but i wouldn't be so arrogant as to say uk is one of the most civilised places on earth, you're suggesting other places are backward according to your own standards.

Anyways i agree with MS it's disgusting how children are being "sexualised". There's no need for kids who have just come out of their bibs to wear a copy cat halter neck top and mini skirt just like their mums. I am not exaggerating there are shops on the high street, (0ne i worked in which i won't name), that sell this trash they should take some responsibility for the increase in paedophilia.

Kids should look like kids. There should be no reference to sexual airs in their attire. Their clothing should appear bright, wacky and cute. Not sexy, dazzling and alluring.

Those of you who say there's nothing wrong with these sort of clothes perhaps you need to wait until you have a daughter of your own, then your protective edge will come into play.

I've spoken about this with my husband before coz his work colleague an old fashioned man, with christian values bought it up. He said it's disgusting the things kids eat these days BK, MAKKIEs that's not food that's fit for the bin, and mini skirts and make up for girls who are knee high, not for my daughter until she's 18. If those attitudes are old fashioned then hey i'm old fashioned too and darn proud of it.

Didn't MP Cameron speak about these trashy clothes aimed at kids? He attacked the retailers and rightly so they should be penalised for it. I mean what does a child of seven need with a blimin padded bra huh????

This reminds me whilst i was away on holiday not too long ago i had access to a TV. Well wife swap was on and i duno why i watched that rubish except i was waiting up for my husband he couldn't get in coz he never took the spare keys..dope!lol Anyways it was the American version. This one mother her entire focus was her her her. She lived to party everyday, and do herself up like a cake. Unfortunately she did the same with her kids. Her idea of a good time for her daughters who were like 6-8 yrs old was giving them as much candy as they wished to consume, manicure pedicures and full face make up and hair dos. This was everyday not occasionally. Unsurprisingly the wife she swapped with was very critical of this as was her husband. In fact her husband went as far as telling his own children make up is for all the ugly ppl in America. He wasn't against makeup as such just the excessiveness of it and putting it on innocent kids. Anyone else see this episode?

The UK government should work fast to ban child beauty pageants if they claim to have any standards of morality in this country. Kids should retain their innocence for as long as they are kids. They should not scrubbed, brushed, and spritzed like poodles trying to win Crufts. There;s a time and place for them to parade about like Naomi Campbell wannabes, and it's not just when they;ve discarded of their nappies and talc.

I didnt see that epidode....but I can see how mothers make their daughters what they are.

On a side note...I do love that programme. The grass isnt always greener on the other side.

That's what a lot of brits think when they see a muslimah in her hijab and veil.

The only difference being one is actually sexualising (if that is a word) kids.

There needs to be room for innocence.

"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens 'as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone'" - David Cameron, UK Prime Minister. 13 May 2015.

I agree.

Assalamu alaykum,

Its quite sad.. Children are expected to grow up so quickly today, even before they have a chance to enjoy their childhood..

Does anyone remember 'Little house on the Prairie' (you guys are probably too young - i used to watch it when i was a kid Wink ) If you've seen it, you'll see how people in the west dressed about 100-200 years ago.. its shocking how fast the clothing styles have changed from then to now, and in such a short span of time..

May Allah shine sweet faith upon you this day and times beyond. May your heart be enriched with peace, and may your home be blessed always. Ameen.

Little House on the Prarie............. Lol

Oh my the good old days. 100-200 years? I would say less. 50-110!

He who sacrifices his conscience to ambition, burns a picture to obtain the ashes!

i have never in my entiure life even come across a little girl who ever NEEDS foundation, hair extension or lip gloss

a little girl can cut her hair boy-short, have a face smeared with chocolate, wear clothes in which she was rolling around in the mud and STILL look good

the dates probably don't make a difference. because in the part of minnesota that the show was set in, they probably still dress like that. as do the amish in pennsylvania.

as for this topic, it's really sad that kids aren't being allowed to enjoy childhood, and disgusting that they are being stripped of their innocence.

I NEVER WORE IT BECAUSE OF THE TALIBAN, MOTHER. I LIKE THE MODESTY AND PROTECTION IT AFFORDS ME FROM THE EYES OF MEN.

hair extensions? is that like extra hair put on you head? Lol who'd want that?!? it would make your head look even bigger.

Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.

People who want longer hair.

how do they stick it on? superglue? and do they ever come off?

Little "MISS" Provocative.

Notice that its always a woman that does these things.

Boys dont tend to do such provocations.

Why is that its always females that have this problem.

They just love to show off.
