Is it not suposed to be first and third line that rhyme?
If so you so far have:
"Dead?" I said,
"Who?" I say
...but that didn't rhyme with said
And cheating... add the topic as the last line....
This thread is dead!!
Now all together:
Quote:

Because they'd start refering to themselves in the third person...
I was just browsing and I thought that I'd add my reasons for visiting; I'll try and keep it short:
How did I find out about this site?
Well, one day I was thinking..."Wow! I've accomplished absolutely nothing of any real significance in my life so far. That's awful! I really should do something about this. Do I really want to look back at my life and feel that I could, should have done more? I need to better myself, I need to help others..."
So, naturally, I then ploughed all my spare time into playing computer games and generally trying to ignore that nagging voice in my head...
To cut a long story short: I managed to help organise an event at our local Masjid and I asked the youngsters what sorts of future activities/events they'd like developed for them. Along with the usual requests for trips to theme parks and cricket/football clubs, there were suggestions of a newsletter for the youth...
I thought "What a great idea! But what is a youth newsletter and what should be in it?"
When I got home I remembered that I had a bunch of 'youth' Muslim magazines safely tucked away on a shelf somewhere. After a few minutes of searching I found about eleven magazines and whilst looking through them I found a July/August edition of 'The Revival' from 1998 (Editor:Sajid Iqbal, Sub-Editors: Manzoor Ahmed Shakir & Khurram Iqbal, Design: Muzamal Mahmood, Typist: Amar Iqbal, do these names sound familiar?).
It was in mint condition too (I was thinking of 'eBaying' it, any idea how much I'd get?). I must have picked it up whilst studying at University.
I then started putting a newsletter together (work is still under progress :(, but I'm aiming to have the first issue finished by the end of February). Whilst doing this I just wondered whether 'The Revival' still existed, perhaps it may even be on the internet? So I put 'The Revival magazine' into Google and it returned this site :).
Boy, have you advanced things! This forum, this website, the magazine, it's all great! Yet you're still trying to improve things! May you all be rewarded for your efforts in ways which are better than anything that I can imagine.
Anyway, that's how I found this website and I hope to pop in, now and again, just to see what you're all discussing. Perhaps I might even contribute to discussions... (but I'm a right thicko, so forgive me if I write anything which upsets anyone).
I'd also like to say that if your team needs help with anything then please feel free to contact me. I'd be more than happy to help in any way that I can :).

(can you please email me a scan of the issue! 'Ed has this habit of distributing which involves giving the last one away!). Thanks for the compliment re the site etc. I am sure ed feels the same way about the mag!
Good luck with your attempt aswell. I would say combine it with ours, but you seem to be doing it as a community exercise... and I would not want to take away from that.
Things always get heated here, but as long as people remember that the others are also people, and occasionally have a sip of cold water its all ok.
If you have any sugestions or contributions, please make them. the next Issue is aimed for march, so having articles ready and finalised by end of February. if you have something that is of use, let us know! (post in The Revival Needs you...).

Salaam yuit,
So much for my idea of making a modest and understated entrance
Yes, I used to post on the Masud forums I'm amazed that anyone would remember any of my postings.
Indeed, you have been blessed with a very good memory yuit, may your blessings continue to give you success in all things.
My memory, on the other hand, is getting worse by the day but I do seem to recall discussing the autobiography of Malcom X, by Alex Haley, with you on the Masud forum...Am I correct?
This forum appears to have some very knowledgeable and good-hearted people and although they seem to encounter the occasional 'mishap', they seem to getting on just fine...
So I think I'll just let them all continue developing, without interfering (too often) with my lame, rambling posts
Which reminds me - what additional powers do mods have now?
They can ban.
They can add (and remove) words to the banned word list.
They can put limits on the names which people can choose.
They can see the ip address as before, and still have the previous powers.
And I think they can edit accounts.
