Seems like Eid is already going on in the US-A right now... is there some kind of timing issue I'm not aware of?

i think one of the issues was when people strted their fasts and when people sighted the moon, the people i knw did it yesterday some are doing it today and others are doin it 2moro. my cousins from New York did eid yesterday, what i find strange is countries which are to the east are ahead of us so they would do eid earlier than us, like countries like bdesh but they are doin it 2moro

ohhh right, lunar calendar... thanks
You're right about that being strange that's a full 2 day gap... which can't be accounted for with a lunar calendar... maybe it's just local tradition or something.

Traditionally Muslims have gone by sighting of the moon.
But these days Saudi goes by birth of the moon.
The moon is normally visible about 18-24 (or more depending on conditions) hours after the birth, thus giving the chance for their new month to start 2 days before the traditional method of sighting.

'New moon' is when you can see the new moon. The crescent has to be large enough to view.
Birth of a new moon is when it passes between your point and the sun, so that technically it is no longer the old moon. The crescent will be too small to be visible for many many hours.
