What hurts and grieves Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) every Monday and every Friday evening when the A’maal (deeds) of the Ummah are presented to him for viewing
Can somebody explain this? Am I to understand this literally... what is this referring to? Something in hadith?
I will need to dig it up a little to confirm wether it really is hadith... I think its hadith.
Basically you have 'angels' jotting down what you do. on the evening of those days, the people's 'jotters' are resented in some form, saying that is what his 'ummah' is getting upto.
This is pretty much evidence of what admin has said above, the following are Ahadith:
1 - Hazrat Abu Hurraira (RA) reports that the Holy Prophet (SAW) said: “When anyone sends salutations on me, Allah Almighty returns my soul (also turns my attention towards that person) and I reply to his salutations.”
Abu Dawud, as-Sunan, volume 2 page 218, Hadith no: 2041
Ahmad bin Hanbal, Musnad, vol 2 pg 527, Hadith no: 10827
2 - Hazrat Abu Darda (RA) reports that the Holy Prophet (SAW) said: "Send as much blessings on me as you can on Friday. It is the day of witnessing. Angels visit my grave on that very day. Whosoever sends blessings on me on this day by the time they finish sending them, they are presented to me.’ Abu Darda (RA) asked: ‘What about after you pass away?’ The Holy Prophet (SAW) said: "The body of the Messengers has been made forbidden for the earth. So Allah’s Messengers always stay alive and receive livelihood from Allah Almighty.’
Daves not asking abt our prayers and salutations being presented to Nabi salallahu alayhi wa sallam; he is asking about our deeds being presented.
why don't you answer his question then, since you're the one who quoted the info he's asking about...

I personally cant tolerate when people mock the sunnah. The other day at my cousins house one of my elders asked what Im going to wear at my wedding. I said I wanna wear a white thobe and white imaamah. He went quite for a bit then went off talking abt some stuff. The relevant points.
...
How dare someone say that thobe looks bad in pakistan?
I dont knw what others think but the style and fashion and preference of our Master salallahu alayhi wa sallam is the most perfect and the most beautiful in all countries and in all ages.
strictly speaking, the thobe of today isn't exactly a sunnah. the Prophet (s.a.w) wore what i think is commonly known among desis as a 'lungi', along with a loose top or robe (usually white). the amaamah is most definitely a sunnah though.

The ulama have made quite clear that the style of Rasullahi salallahu alayhi wa sallam's clothing was not the same as the mushrikeen arabs.
Significant differences included the practice of isbaal, the donning of a kufi, the length and presence of tails on the turban etc.
i know we've had this discussion before, but i'd just like to point out again that this is not an emphasised sunnah - there are not strong ahadith to back it (as compared to the wearing of the amaamah).

I do not have reference to or know the hadeeth. I have faith in what Hadrat Mawlana has written - if by some chance I come across the hadeeth then will put it up inshaALLAH.

The example is thus - wearing of a black thobe can be deemed sunnah because its a thobe, wearing of a white thobe can be deemed a sunnah but one of greater ranking because it has two qualities similar to the sunnah etc. So yes the clothing today we cannot say is in exactly the same style as Nabi salallahu alayhi wa sallam but we should get as close as possible. Its like one Mawlana Khalid Mahmood Sawmro from pakistan said that if a person puts on a nice smelling thing with intention of sunnah being fulfilled then although the perfume itself isnt a sunnah one - the reward will inshaallah still be attained.
We have discussed regarding the topi before. We agree to differ. According to you its not emphasised sunnah, according to our ulama it is.
Any followup on this?
