Due to time, I wont cover all your point’s- as I have to leave shortly to pick someone up from the Airport, the best action would have been to banned him for a short period (1 month), but not delete his account- This is a lame attempt to silence him forever.

While I don't see any reason we cannot do a short ban - other than it strikes me as a "big forum" move which we are not, I don't see any reason this could be construed as an attempt to silence him for his views. The problem was he consistently attacked members' beliefs and shaykhs in an insulting manner - what amounted to takfeering them (shaykhs) and calling them things like "people of innovation," then issuing strange warnings about going to hell for following these people. He had been warned many times and yesterday another member asked the admin to warn him. He was warned and instead of sanding the edge down he called everybody graveworshippers and continued to try to flame. He was simply out of control.

However the mods/Admin should consider changing that from a permanent ban to a short term ban. I still consider med a valuable forum member so long as he understands there are rules and an etiquette to disagreement.

Views aren't the problem. Presentation is everything. If you come in guns-a-blazing hurling insults and accusations about, the mods are going to do something about it. If you politely dissent that's perfectly fine.

I’d mention this some time ago, that different ethnic tribes are all racist to each other in Pakistan, as for the Bengalis they where massacred in the millions, welcome to Pakistan!

Doesn't it strike you as a little prejudiced to assume all the Pakistanis on this forum are racist because thats 'how they all are back in Pakistan?' We understand there was a massacre in 1971, I don't think anybody here has said anything good about it. But we are still left with the question... "so what do you want us to do about it." You are extremely passionate about this issue, you came here very much worked up on the subject, demanding we all join you in... being worked up... and anybody that didn't was pro-pakistani, which is apparently very bad. Yet you haven't given us any idea of what it is we are supposed to join you in doing. You're all packed with no place to go. - That's the only reason the issue hasn't generated an acceptable amount of interest to you - we don't know what it is you want us to do about it.

My forum is far more balanced and united, we don’t have majority of any ethnic group- that’s a different matter.

I don't know how it could get more balanced or united than this. There isn't even a homogenization of religion - let alone races. And one of the things most people say they like about the Revival is that we are all friends and get along so well.

Furthermore - i'm not sure what you're implying an abundance of Pakistanis leads to. What are "Pakistani issues?" Other than a curious prediliction toward Qadri, occasional mentionings of Saris and Keema, and perjorative/joculative references to being shipped "back home" for a variety of circumstances none of the Pakistanis on the forum really get into what's troubling the Pakistani nation. This forum is by and large apolitical except for the major topics of the day like terrorism and whatnot - most of the time we are focused on religious questions, which makes the forum all inclusive to all muslims - not just Pakistanis.

Let's try this route though - do any of the non-Pakistanis *with the exclusion of Judda* feel like they've been silenced before based on Pakistani nationalist lines?

I know I haven't.

You're Judda - it's self explanatory.

And change the name back! You got me all worked up thinking Tex had returned to the party, but it was just you.

...aren't you in school right now?

lol i'm in college - I don't have time for a life. And if you start paying attention in school now someday you will understand perfectly.

And what precisely does a 15 year old do that remotely resembles having a life?

lol Whatever - the Pakis have obviously indoctrinated me poorly.

But I thought Muslim Sister and lilsis were always talking about them...

i have never worn a sari-nor do I own one

my sister has worn it once in her entire life

we're girls-we like to talk

sari is not the paki tradititional dress u dumbo

its like u wearing a kilt

but i have nothing against the sari-tis very pretty

just not practical

lol. lilsis is right, its not much of a traditional dress for pakistanis, i guess they wanted to create their own 'culture' after the partition. Wink Blum 3

but i think us gals brought up in the UK dont differentiate all that much, the fact we're living here means we can pick and choose from traditional dresses that we like without anyone telling us what we HAVE to wear on certain occasions, if that makes any sense.

For example, i've worn a sari about 4 times in the past year, gotten quite used to it (its not all that impractical lilsis! ;)) but i wear em coz i genuinely like them, not just coz of my indian heritage. in fact, according to indian culture, its married women who are meant to wear the sari - my mom was reluctant to let me wear it for that reason. Lol

I NEVER WORE IT BECAUSE OF THE TALIBAN, MOTHER. I LIKE THE MODESTY AND PROTECTION IT AFFORDS ME FROM THE EYES OF MEN.

lol I was actually being sarcastic...

Again.

In fact why don't yall just assume i'm being sarcastic and i'll let you know when i'm not!

Maybe Michael Jackson will wear a sari now.

:

exactly

we've diluted our culture so much that we hardly have a culture anympre

thats why i find it hard to understand shaz's concerns-

none of us are nationalistic or feel extremly passiontly about our culture

lol Khan does - but he's a Bengali - not Pakistani, and I don't think he's ever mentioned a paki bias here.

Most of the time yall seem to agree nationalism is a bad thing for muslims.

i have no reservations about being biased against white americans  Wink

i knew that - hence the 'lol' Blum 3 but thought i'd add a comment on the sari and 'culture' anyway.

lol go for it.

If he agrees to be less offensive in his presentation and not throw accusations around - and certainly not engage in flamming when he's been warned, I see no reason this ban should be anything but temporary.

Reflection time.

Med and the forum do not seem to be on the same page at the moment, he thinks he was banned for his views, however it was his conduct that got resulted in his ban.

This isn't like Ziggy who had absolutely no interest in changing tunes.

naj

what was the point of him posting here?

"to cure us of our maladies"

he failed in his mission-people got tired of their teacher being accused of such mean things

he shud give up now-y wud he want to return?

like dave said-tis not his views that were a prob

angel left cos he dissed her teacher so much-there's a limit to how much crap a person can take

truthfully i dont kno naj

i'm not passionatly against his ban

i see wer ur coming frm

even tho i fighted with him a lot-i wouldnt have pressed for his bann

if he stops dissing people's teachers and stops accusing us of all sorts

i see no reason why he shouldnt come back

but its not up to me
