Hajj is fardh upon you once you have the HALAAL means to meet the obligation.
If you go without the halaal means, or you are using someone elses money, it is not counted as the fardh hajj.

pls no criticism, i have heard this before, just need advie, if mum wants to go on hajj, she wd use dads money to pay for it
i dnt think this is possible, as in the shop they own, they sell alcohol
this is then haraam money, where does my parents obligation of hajj come?
Donate a sizable portion to charity and then use the rest for your Hajj.
Sort of like spiritual money laundering...

wow is that possible???
i was really worried my parents cant do hajj until they give up shop, and my dad is having trouble walking properly now and he aint even 50, so they prob wont give it up til they retire
really want them to go to hajj
so its the physical act of having clean money??
thought it was bad to give haraam money to chaarity, or is that just to mosque???
Your parents should take the money they earn in the shop and give it to a non0muslim. He will in return give you cash which is NOT the same money which your parents just gave him, then they can do hajj.
Or they should arrange to borrow money from a non-muslim but should NOT include interest. Then once they get that money from the non-muslim, hand over the same amount of money from the SHOP TILL to the non-muslim. InshaALLAH the money used for hajj will be pure.
Dave, we aint catholic, spiritual money laundering. Puhleaze.
No, No, No.
Tell them to calculate the haraam and the halaal portions of theor earnings.
If the halaal portion is enough to do hajj, it is then fardh.
You CANNOT do fardh hajj on borrowed money, or haraam money.
Tell them to lose the haraam part of the business, and give away the haraam money to worthwile causes that are not for the benefit of just muslims. Give it to eg oxfam. Its not a charitabke act though, just an act to purify the money.

Med your original 'fatwa' was like one made by those mosque imams who ahve not studied! I expected better from you. (the bit where give it and get it back... that IS money laundering...)
Poison Ivy:
1. You should avoid the consumption of products from haraam income. However if you do, it does not mean ou cannot pray for 40 days. You still have the obligation of the 5 daily prayers.
If they sell the business, that is a legitimate transaction, as the business had both halaal and haraam income. the action of selling it was to remove the haraam side, but due to the halaal side, it should eb permissible. After all the first step was buying it. They will be returning to a natural state there... If you get what I mean...

Admin bro I disagree about second bit. Fard Hajj CAN be done with borrowed money and even with haraam money it is considered that the obligation is discharged although it is not correct.
Hajj is only fardh upon you when you have the means.
If you do not have the means and go, it still accepted as hajj, but since the hajj was not fardh upon you, it is not the fardh hajj obligation which has been met, but that of a nafl hajj.
Obviously if the money is haraam, then its as if you do not have that money... as all you can do is give it away.. and not as charity, but just gove it away... and again not to an Islamic cause.

But that money laundering as u say it is taught by some. I have just checked.
It purifies the wealth.
Not according to others.
You are just exchanging money.
By what you say, depositing money into a bank makes it halaal. After all the physical notes are diferent...
Its a cop-out that I cannot accept.
