He always rants about it.

Now lets wait for him to explain who they are.

I'll ask paxman style...

right on Admin...im sick to death of Med accusing most peopel here of Bidah. So Grand Mufti Med, who thinks hes better than most here...who are these ppl of Bidah?
You are so intolerant...anyone who you disagree with you accuse them as ppl of bidah... how sad and childish. You're supposed to be a student of Islam...
ask your scholars of Deoband...the 40 days 'gasht' that tablighi jamaat do isnt that bidah? did the prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam (Peace and Blessings be upon him) do it? did the sahabah do it? if not then it makes deobandis and Tablighi Jamaat which you admire so much ... as people of bidah!

so before you accuse ppl of things...learn some adab, learn that there is difference of opinion in this deen, you should be more tolerant and stop being soooo quick to throw out accusations!

no not right to say the above to med only but everyone AS i see everyone accuses including YOURSELF so learn from own advice to

hey ppl

There's another forum i used to frequent quite a bit, they use live scholars to answer questions sometimes. Anyways one of the members said he had the oppportunity of meeting Shaykh hamza Yusuf and he did ask about his beard length. The shaykh actually said ppl presume he's cutting his beard off, but in actual fact his hair doesn't grow much. So we shouldn't think the worst of someone with a short beard, before we know what's true.

If Abdul Basit claims his hair doesn't grow much we should accept it as the truth and not speculate.

Your right Mods-You tell em how it is

way too much name calling and sectarian crap is being sprouted here cos of the newcomers-

if u disagree with them ur from the "people of biddah"

if u disagree with their scholar "ur arrogant"

the standard of this forum is dropping big time

i agree sis

iv not been online in a long while+come back and this iz wat i see!!! jeez ppl....get a grip!

One thing i've noticed here lately a lot of name dropping. One side calling another ppl of bidah. Another side saying you are deobandis, tableeghis or extremists.

Neither of you are better than the next. It really sickens me this forum has become like those mosques which don't welcome you unless you affiliate to their set of beliefs nevermind that you're a muslim. You've become obsessed with sects, you're losing scope of the bigger picture.

There's room for differences in Islam on certain issues. If you decide on path A and path B is also a valid option, you can take either as long as you can explain "why" to Allah. If i take path A i can't assume all those taking path B are ppl of bidah, especially if the shariah permits it.

My husband attends a deobandi mosque. Most of his friends do aswell. So do my brothers. But they have friends who go to mosques following other beliefs, and do often pray in these mosques aswell. So i don't know where you're getting your ideas on deobandis from because the ones i know are very tolerant, generous, charitable and devote their lives to their religion.

I've not said nothing about ppl of bidah or other sects so why do i feel like i'm being attacked here?

Bottom line about belly piercing the sister should contact ulema she normally follows and get their opinion. Opinions of ppl here don't really matter. I could be following one school of thght which doesn't permit it you could be on an entirely different one so why ask us. Matters like this should be taken to those more in the know. They will never answer you in an abusive tone, and they will never mock the positions other schools of thght take. They are humble god fearing ppl, unlike us.

Whatever...

You know you'll get the boot.

Then as any true paki I will start my own organisation, and call it something really similar, which will just criticise The Revival.

I think I'll call it Teh Revival. The Motto: To revive The Revival!

deleted because.... ???
unlike Med i dont accuse anyone of ahlul biddah...or of shirk, kufr etc

i said before he accuses others, he should look at his own group
i hav enothing against deovbandis, brelwis, salfis...they are my fellow muslims.. i know there are differences..and there is nothing wrong with that.
i have a problem with ppl like Med who is quick to accuse others...
i havent accused anyone of anything...just tried to correct Med when he labels fellow Muslims as x, y, z..
i have very good deobandi friends, i look up to several deobandi scholars, several ppl are part of The Revival team....its just ppl and mentality of the likes of Med that put me off!

I dont put ppl down because of their beliefs, i discuss the evidence... then agree or disagree..i only lose my rag abit when the likes of Med get the fatwa machine out!

i do not understand these sub-sects why do we have them , i was thought to believe there are 4 correct fiqhs of islam i follow the hanafi fiqh

why do people follow these other sub-sect that are all origionated in the indian-sub continant and are influence by imams who add there own extras which some regard as shirk and biddah

surely these sub-sects just create tension, name calling and division

Salafis, Shias, Druze, Ismailis, Ibadis, to name but a few, don't come from the Subcontinent.

The schools are not sects. They are schools of jurisprudence.

The subsects arose when people had a difference of opinion. Each community preached their own interpretation.

When people ignore the qur'an and sunnah, that does lead to problems. However alot of thigs now classified as biddah (and even shirk) do have their roots in the sunnah. Just because they are practised by a group, the actions are maligned.

ok irffy

why do people follow these other sub-sects that are all origionated in the indian sub-continent and other parts of the world

hope your happy now :?

Islam allows a difference of opinion.

These 'subsects' are just alliances of people with the same oinion.

True a difference should not mean just splitting out and making a subsect.

Sects are to be expected.

The Prophet (SAW) told us there would be sects.

Diff people in diff nations, cultures apply/interpret Islam differently.

As the differences become established and perculiar to one group of people then you get sects emerging.

But the biggest probs come when people condemn people who don't follow Islam the way that they do.

who agrees these schools create

division

tension

misuderstanding

unpracticality

Islam should be a practical religion that unites everyone , with a clear message , surely it is unpractical having different many different sub-sects each with difference that create anger and tension between them and division in islam why not stick with the 4 origional fiqhs

If it was that easy then there would be no problem.

Hate, division, tension come about becuase of people's jealousies and big-headedness.

It is the dividers we should be careful of.

division is a blessing.

Its when ignorant fools get involved that all hell breaks loose.
