so yeah, abit everywhere recently ive ben posting stuff about how im trying to boycott anything related to helping Israel.
so ive also just been doing light research aka google, opening lots of tabs, browsing.
and i found a few things i want to share with you.
First and foremost, this list. right from the horse's mouth. Its called "THESE COMPANIES SUPPORT ISRAEL...LET'S SUPPORT THEM..." why the need to ellipses is beyond me..so is the need for capital letters, so there we go:

http://wakeupfromyourslumber.com/node/298 and something there really touched me:
But first, on a positive note, some suggestions on what TO buy.
* Please DO buy goods from small local producers where possible.
* Please DO buy books from Canadian publishers.
* Please DO buy fairly traded goods. (And please note that "fair trade" isn’t always what it appears. If it’s coming from a company like Starbucks, be a little suspicious. A lengthy profile on Starbucks appears in these pages.)
* Please DO buy Palestinian olive oil, soaps, wood carvings etc., that are marketed by trusted fair trade sources such as Zatoun and Ten Thousand Villages. For readers in Kitchener-Waterloo, I will be distributing Zatoun olive oil locally. Contact me at the e-mail above, or write to orders@zatoun.com for the distributor nearest you.
cant get out of the quote thing!! anyway, this particularly got me thinking: If you do decide to boycott a company, the impact is increased a hundredfold if you contact the company to inform them that you are boycotting them and why.

I always feel for this Palestine conflict yet i don't feel like i'm actually taking action and trying to do something. I admire my sister with things like this. She's only a year and a half younger than me, yet she does quite a bit of boycotting. It all began when i brought home a double sided leaflet on companies which support Israel.
I think the first thing she boycotted was Radox. Thats nice and easy and theres hundreds of other shower gels that you can use. Then she boycotted Coke, not just that, but all the different flavours of Fanta, because its produced by CocaCola.
Then she decided to boycott Nestle. So thats all the Nesquik powdered milkshakes along with the ever-so-tempting Nestle ice lollies. There's always alternative milkshakes, chocolates and ice lollies, so she won't eat any nestle products however nice they look. (How can she resist?!)
Then she took it to a new level. She doesn't eat ANYTHING from Tesco's. So if my mums done the weekly shopping from there, she just won't eat any of those foods. So now, my mums left with no other option but to shop at a place other than Tesco's. Tesco's is ONLY for a last minute item (which she won't eat or use anyway).
So ASDA it is! (They seem cheaper aswell lol)
TESCO?!?! i didnt know?!
and mashaaAllah.
here's the thing though Hummus, i had a similar convo with my friend yesterday.
how important is human life to you?
how important is the flavour of a drink?
are the two comparable?
so when someone boycott something to help someone's life. how can you mention the flavour of drinks?
i dont know if ive only thought this or if ive said this somewhere else but. it shld be the other way round. people shld be ashamed to drink fanta. not look in shock at someone who boycotts it and say something like "ohh but it taste so good" or "oh but pepsi doesnt taste the same".
people are dying here.
people are being chucked out their houses.
families are being torn apart.
edit: all cocacola products: http://www.thecoca-colacompany.com/brands/index.html
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
I couldn't careless about the flavour of drinks, im not that picky when it comes to things like this and i wouldn't say i'm a 'fan' of any of the CocaCola products, some of them just taste good, that's all.
I 'can' sacrifice not having CocaCola products, but when i see them infront of me, i think 'oh its there, its already bought and i may aswell drink it now'. But i think i need to stop the roots of it all, so when i'm in a shop and looking at what to buy, i should opt for other options and definitely not a product of CocaCola. This is what i'm going to start off with to take some actual action!
It might seem like such a small thing, but the more people that do the same, even in such a small amount, the larger the impact. Its these small decisions that we make, which are going to help our fellow brothers and sisters in Palestine, inshaAllah!
when i go palestine i must go Nablus. and... other places mentioned in the book called "the flowers of Galilee" by... Israel Adam Shamir.
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
I'd love to have a read.
LOL, that book was banned in France for a while over allegations of antisemitism!
yep it was. and guessss where i found out abt this book? (and in what language i read the first 60 or so pages (i cannt for the life of me even recall what page number im on actually - i just know i started part 2))
FRANCE! FRENCH! yes yes! it was really nice and i want to read it in French still.
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
My friend said to me yesterday, "But the Prophet used to trade with the Jews who were his enemies"
I did reply to that, but I probably shouldn't have, as well I thought it's a good point, and I'm not sure if what I said was valid.
I'd like to hear how you would reply?
Dis he actually trade with proper enemies, who really really hated him? Or just non-Muslims? I know I've read about him trading with non-Muslims but can't remember, exactly, who.
"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi
yeah he did trade with ennemies. boycotting, its not abt the goods. its abt where the money is going. to fund an oppressive injustice.
pretty rubbish reply. sorry... screen too bright...
