What makes you a muslim?

Salam, my name is ruksar and i am new to this website. My question today is related to 'what makes YOU a muslim''?
I am asking this question because i would like people to stop for once and think carefully and deeply about it.
I find myself asking myself this question and ended up exploring things and start thinking from a different point of view to find answers. So please have a go and goodluck

Hmm Fair. I would but

it's tricky condensing me into just one line (;

#Before you look at the thorns of the rose , look at it's beauty. Before you complain about the heat of the sun , enjoy it's light. Before you complain about the blackness of the night, think of it's peace and quiet... #

Do you see where this confusion comes in?
I asked this question but not for me but for yourself..
i wish whoever read this question to go and think about it....
It's a question that we should ask ourselves...
The thing is this question does not have any ryt or wrong answers, it's about looking within your heart, your mind and your soul to find the answers.
For many people it might be different answers...
For me, the fact that i do not judge others, whenever someone seek revenge or harm me in anyway i always leave in Allah ta'laa hands,i do not fight for no reason, i do not raise my voice to anyone elder nor i call anyone by their first name(someonein higher positon)
FOr each of you, this question has different answers hence i dnt want the answer to it but for all of you to go and think about it deeply.

for the examples u refered to: Your e.g of non-muslims also not smoking etc is a bit like a tomboy - just cuz she dresses like a boy doesn't make her a boy. Nor does it mean theboy isn't a boy bcuz d girl is dressed lyk him and isnt a boy. Does that make sense?

just cuz she dresses like a tom boy doesn't make her a BOY ! that the point ! not doing 5 times prayers is not the only thing that actually makes you a muslim... nor declaring ur faith in public nor keeping away from laws which is forbidden...Anyway, this question is for each of you, and only you can answer it by looking and thinking deep about it.

Okay Biggrin it's not rude and i hope i did not sound rude nor insane,it's just a question to think about. Biggrin

u didn't get my point. nvm its a pondering Q.

Why should we think about this question in the first place? There's more important to be asked AND answered, imo.

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?

Hallo Ruk Smile I am BIJOU Smile ...
Anyways, in reponse to your question...

Hhmmmmm, I think being a Muslim is being a good human being. Quran encourages good behaviour towards evryone, caring for all, looking after the needy, being polite and kind, not to speak harshly, being giving and generous...which is basically being a good person. Now, if your a person that has this character then that makes you a good human being Allhudmulilah. But then as Muslims we have other duties and responsiblities to abide by also such as, like others have mentioned eating Halal only, not drinking, praying Salah, going for Hajj (if possible) etc...now if we have both these characteristics I believe it makes us a good Muslim.

You get people that are Muslims but do not follow either of the examples I have given above, and then you get human beings who are not Muslims but would follow the first example of being a good human...

Your own soul is nourished when you are kind; it is destroyed when you are cruel.

I planned to perform Hajj, However I found myself baffled about many things (the travel agency with which I can travel, the prices...).. As you know each detail count. I cannot describe my happiness when I found this website, Indeed it is a very good website dealing with Hajj and Umrah. A complete expalantion about the Hajj steps, requirements....is there. In short, this website is called WWW.GO-Makkah.com. It offers the first online comparison of Hajj and Umrah offers worlwide to allow the pilgrim select what suits his/her requirements and it helped me much in fact. It equally helps the pilgrims prepare his/her Hajj via its thorough information! No more Hack or fraud. Many thanks for them, those who vigil to offer their services to the guests of Allah!

WWW.GO-makkah.com here is the website!
