What makes The Revival different from other Islamic sites and magazines?
and ur answer is?
i haven't really been on other Islamic sites like this;with forums/discussions etc. Like once i think i found a good one but never went back on it for some reason.
The only reason i joined this place was cuz of the mag that i saw when i was like 12 - which was also the first Islamic mag i saw which was targeted at a young audience.
so i can't really compare.

I don't have an answer. That is because I don't go on any other islamic sites or rad any Islamic magazines to be honest.
I know other people on here use other Islamic sites and magazines. I just wanted to know why there is a difference in the popularity.
Power of Silence took the words out of my mouth. i dont read other mags/go on other forums. and revival was the first mag i ever got.
i think im appeal to the small community thing. and the whole not-too-formal. or maybe i havent gone in the "formal" side...
but its like...you cant even tell that You is the admin, its not written anywhere, but you can tell when you hang around long enough.
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
Good question! Mainly (and I say mainly) because when you're part of these forums and when you read the articles you feel inspired, empowered and you feel good about yourself and Islam. There is a sense that the writers actually understand us.
Now there was this magazine that I picked up in Pakistan and this other magazine (I won't name names) but if you read some of the articles you would (or at least I did) get the impression that they don't understand us. Sometimes it gave a wrong impression about Islam.
Mainly the Revival rises way above that; which is why it is the best by far! Keep it up!

well now everyone knows
lol, well he isn't the official admin
"How many people find fault in what they're reading and the fault is in their own understanding" Al Mutanabbi
well at least i dont make it obvious by asking a certain someone to delete certain posts on tribune!
and some people just call him "admin"
so there is more obvious than me!!
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
I think I need to admit that my attempt to quit has been quite a massive failure.
(Now... how bad is that, that I can't even quit properly?)

whats that about not being the official admin and quitting?
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
Any why couldn't you quit properly?
Is it really a big deal if you stepped down, gave someone else the job and moved on?
And wait...why are we talking about Admin..I know he thinks the world revolves around him (cough, the blog) but this is about how we can improve the revival and blah blah
Why did u quit in the first place?
It must be a big deal since he's the one who put all that effort to make the site what it is! Or maybe he just cant help but fidget

If you asked me I would say the issues we tackle, the language we use and the non sectarian approach makes us unique.
We dont touch issues of Aqaid in the magazine.
How many mags talk about imams n mosques/sexual abuse in muslim community/ gangsterism/ anorexia...
also our down to earth, at times tongue in cheek, street language is probably what makes our readers relate to it more....
also we're free- alot of mags charge.... so u can pick up revival at u rmosque, take away etc so more accessible...
do u agree with the above or am i imagining all this lol
also what other unique factor woiuld you like to see in the mag or website?
I think that's just you.
The site is different from the magazine. less "cold".

aahhh tribune!!! <3
yep it deals with real issueas that the youth are facing and also its not formal or anything which makes me more accessible too. it basically understands its target audience and delivers to them. well done.

You think the site is less cold?
I think they are equally the same.
I would like to see lots of different people using the site.
But why is that not happening?
Is the site advertised well on the magazine?
What I like about this website/community is that it seems to be pleasant people.
If there was something that could be changed, it would be if some more scholared people were involved who could carry out religious discussions with the required ettiquette and knowledge.
I think I have mentioned this before, but I am here more for the social aspect than anything else - its a mostly good (or atleast not-a-bad) influence on me most of the time.

We actually influence You?
Yep, love the site! plus, unlike the mag, you can just come back everyday and its different. Whereas with the mag, understandably, it's a monthly thing (i cant imagine having access to the site just once every month =O)
Ohh yes, the friendly community of this website! Werent we planning to take over the world? I think we actually CAN do it!
I agree with Sully! Is the website talked about in the mag? We want more people! (We need henchmen to take over the world...)
