Hav u ever lied to yourself. Just to make you feel better. And deep down you know its a lie but you go along with it coz its a prettier picture than reality.
I wonder if Allah (swt) would hav issues with that?

Sometimes you need the pick me up.
Self delusions can be an important thing.

except they're lies!.... entertaining lies maybe but lies none the less.
truth is whats important.
Some times you need them to keep you going.
A narrative that you can use to make sense of things. It may not always be 100% accurate or objective, but your world is not merely facts, but what you imagine it to be.
Two people can look at the same thing and have different readings, different responses, different levels of positivity or negativity.

What do you have against being comfortable?
Is this a "Jihawd" of some sort?
Lying to yourself can be a very bad thing. But some times it is needed IMO.
WOuld you be against people telling themselves a story in order to cheer themselves up, make them walk just that little bit further?

Nothing wrng with dellusions. They help make sense of our world coz without them we'd feel a lil out of control. And ppl dont like that feeln of helplessness.
Aslong as the dellusions dont cause problems for others i say let them hav their cake and eat it.
However once they realiz its a lie. It might be difficult to accept.
What was your fairytale?

Truth is what sets you free. If you can handle it.

The thing is people have different philosophies on life based on their own mindsets and experiences.
While these philosophies may change over time, everyone will think that their current philosophy on it is the right one and it will be next to impossible to convinve them otherwise. Everyone will think that they are right.

hey, those "fairytales" i think are really helpful. when life's guetting tough and you dont know how to go about solving itm then escaping to fairytale land is alright. ok, its the coward way but heY! not everybody's got the energy to fight back sometimes.
ok...you HAVE to find a solution to your problems and pick yourself up. but thats hard and tiring and NOT comfortable. so...going off into comfortable zone ever once in a while might give you the energy to carry on.
i am a big fairytale land user.
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
i can't do that, its either reality or nothing, sure i run away from reality somedays especially recently its bin way too much. but fairytales. nope it's not something that works with me or that i'd try. Either you face the real things, or you just leave them to one side and focus on other real things until your strong enough to face upto whatever you left on the side. atleast thats how i do it.,
maybe i just make it harder for myself? but i prefer it to be a reality.
well you know what exception. this is exactly what ALL of us should do. Instead of guetting lost in fake, perfect, happy smiley stories.
i never really thought about doing something that i liked and that was REAL. but...the stitch here is that if you have low self esteem you feel you cant do anything (you'd enjoy) in REAL life. (and you might not be wrong)
Also, doing real stuff required STUFF, REAL stuff, like a book, or a basketball or a computer or whatever you enjoy.
Whereas fairytales, ahh beloved fairytales...you only need your brain. so you can do it ANYWHERE, bored in the bus, while someone is talking to you, after you got in trouble, right there and then in the middle of the stressful situation.
but you're right, something that easy and good cant be..euh..good.
Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
Reality is important.
Like you need to know what you can account for and what is out of your control.
Delusions while sometimes necessary can also be dangerous as they can either make you assume you can control more than you can, or on the other hand help you not take account of your choices and actions and this latter one can lead down a spiral where you eventually compromise more of your integrity than you ever wanted to, but don't know how that happened and feel that somehow it was not your fault.
