Sunita Williams reverting to islam???

"Sunita Williams, the 1st indian lady who went to the moon on 02/07/2007 said that from the moon, the whole earth looked very black and dark, except the two places which were bright and shining when she saw through the telescope. These places were MAKKAH & MADINA (Saudi Arabia). Also, at the moon all the frequencies failed but still she could listen to the AZAAN..s'allah"

What has been reported that she and her crew (who went to the moon)may have accepted islam, though i havent found any form of source which has her declared statement.

Or the fact that the surfaces are white polished marble... I would expect that to be quite reflective of light.

Oh, and first, I have not heard of her before. Secondly, since the same post also says there is no statement, the whole thing is hearsay.

(Thirdly, I do not like the word "reverting". It is innacurate. Converting or accepting would be more accurate IMO.)

I got a text about this.

Why is it inaccurate? i have been told the term "converting" is inaccurate :?:

Read all about it!

(short story, people revert to their fitrah, but convert to Islam.)

Ok let me explain. We` are all born Muslims. It is our parents who dictate our religion owing to our upbringing. Hence we all all born Muslim and revert back to being Muslims, our original birthright. This is well known amongst Muslim Scholarsand Ulimat. I hope this clarifies the matter for you. All the best.

Hi Kat Khan. See my response to Suhail for clarification on reverts. Hope this clarifies. All the best.

We are born "pure", however this is different from Muslim as being Muslim requires something more.

Everyone has to choose to be a Muslim - even born Muslims, however it is made easier for born Muslims as they are often taken through a path of education etc where the choosing becomes a default acceptance instead of a denial (and alhamdulillah for that!). Others however do not have this luxury and need to find Islam before it can guide them.

In Islam do we not believe that everyone is born a muslim?...
therefore anyone who comes back to islam is a revert

so revert is an accurate term and calling some a convert is wrong and changes the belief of islam.

anyone agree?...

We believe that they are born "pure" and of the "fitrah" and that Islam is the natural progression of that. However Islam requires a person to consciously acknowledge and accept it.

People convert to Islam and/or revert to their fitrah.

Is there really any point debating over the correct term? Can they not just be called Muslims, if it's so hard to decide. There are more important things to learn about, right?

No one has been to the moon since the 70s/80s and Sunita has only been to space and ISS

no mate, the correct term is reverting, beacause every human being is born muslim and then they addapt to their culture and follow different beliefs, thats when they have actually converted but thn when come one becomes a muslim from another religion that is called reverting, because every person was born a muslim

well this story is spreading like wild fire, 1st of all if this claim is true then 'amazing', bt what i read is that she aint converted its jus he said she said, she took indian religouse books with her n statue of her god, which she later said in an interview it was he who help'd an guid'd her, 2nd of all she never went to the moon she went to the 'iss', 3ov all she was the second indian women on the moön! Only if u hear it frm her mouth yourself then u can say it is true, even if it wer true, they would hide it of the internet b'coz why wud she follow the path of muslims the worlds most hated religion! Peace and 1love , go check wiki islam

the worlds most hated religion???
Yeah, right... Hated by every other religion, you mean?
Knowing that Islam is the one and only true, pure, fitrah and barokah religion...

Can I assume that all these anonymous posters are in fact one person keeping alive a dead topic?

dear brother ashuk, i dont condemn u by saying most hated religion, i know u guys have bad image from islam but islam means peace and it always spreads peace, never judge islam blindly, if u want to know about islam read our sacred book quran and if u wanna look at muslims dont look at today's muslims look at the life story of our prophet mohammad peace be upon him
