Firefox 3.6

Just upgraded to the release candidate. and so far things are good.

Scrolling is a little faster, which is throwing me slightly - maybe it is too fast for me?

The layout etc is the same and one behavioural change by default is to open new tabs next to the tab from within which the link was clicked instead of at the end.

Clicking links on the bookmarks bar will still open the tab at the end, but links inside the page will open next to the current tab. This feature may take me some time to get used to as the grouping of tabs has no visual indications unlike in Internet Explorer 8 and I also have to fight my muscle memory.

Apart from this, there are a few under the the hood technology changes that can mostly be ignored, built in "personas" for people who like that sort of thing and also the ability to check in one place to make sure all plugins are up to date (as opposed to addons, the functionality of which was already present).

Jobs a good 'un.

Having an upgraded Firefox..affects how fast you can scroll up and down?

yes, exactly.

You approve?

not yet. eventually, maybe. I am used to being able to track the scrolling with my eyes - keep focussed on a specific bit. but now since the speed is faster, my tracking is out of sync and potentially causes eye strain.

I never realised this but an easy way to navigate your fav without even going into the favs menu is to simply start typing the name of the website into the url bar and it automatically brings up the saved page from ur favs.

spiffy

its one of the main ways I navigate - type in the one letter of the favourited site's url or name, and then click the correct link from those that pop up.

It also has added memory, so over time, it will learn which links you want more and eventually you can train it to who the link you want with maybe pressing one letter only.

It is what makes the awesome bar so awesome.

hm.. I think there is either a bug on my pc somewhere or with firefox 3.6 where sometimes submitting forms (like the reply box here, or the login box etc) will just refresh the page without submitting the forms...
