Imam anwar awlaki lectures on Jihad are not only educational but also grounded in the principles of the religion. The lectures allow you understand the concept of Jihad and the rules and constants relating to Jihad. However, we like to learn and talk about what is jihad and what is not jihad, but thats about as much as you get out of ourselves thesedays. Anyone who wants a clear understanding listen to The 2 topics one is the constants of jihad and the other is mashari al ashwaq, very enlightening talks mashallah.

Salam
There is no thing as "Absolute Pacifism".
No man, or group, practises this imaginary idea.
Even the Buddhist monks go to war.
Jesus Christ did say "love your enemies", and, "turn the other cheek"
but which of his followers follow that idea?
None.
However, I believe that only true Sufis are the closest people who follow pacifist teachings of Jesus.
Sufis are more peaceful and non-violent than any other group in the world.
Wahhabi and Salafis say Prophet Mohammed advocated peace but ordered muslims to fight with enemies, even on to death. He said Paradise awaits those who die in the name of God. This is why muslims love to die for their religion.
For example, Iraqis were never going to sit back and let President Bush take their country.
No. Bush imagined Iraqis would sit back and watch.
Politicians in Washington actually thought Iraqis would "welcome the U.S. Marines with open arms".
Well, the reality is a lot different from delusion.
Some experts warned that Iraqis would give hell to any invader.
And they did give hell.
So, now, Bush is desperate to pull out troops with honor.
But its seems that for Bush, Iraq is going to be a retreat like that in Vietnam.
For most people, pacifism is not a workable idea. Resistence is. Everyone practices it.
Whether in war or in everyday life, resistence is always on the go.
We resist racists and bigots at school, collages and at work. We resist bad laws and fight to change them. We resist when our country gets invaded. So its a natural thing.
Resistence is allowed by all religions - Islam, Christinaity, Judasim and so on.
And Islam is the most realistic religion on Earth.
Nobody, even Christians whose leader Jesus spoke of the idea, practises "turning the other cheek" philosophy all the time.
I think only Sufis try their best to live up the ideals of Jesus.

The word 'Pacifism' comes from the words 'Peace'.
So does the word 'Islam', but it does not actually mean 'peace' (as some people say).

It means peace acquired by submitting your will to Allah.
