how the meeting of the two great oceans. The Indian and the Atlantic creates amazing things that repercurate all the way into inland Africa. Mountains 3KILOMETRES high that trap clouds and make the land beyond them into desert.

“You’re a stay-at-home mom? What do you DO all day?”

It’s happened twice in a week, and they were both women. Anyone ought to have more class than this, but women — especially women — should damn well know better.

Last week, I was at the pharmacy and a friendly lady approached me.

“Matt! How are those little ones doing?”

“Great! They’re doing very well, thanks for asking.”

“Good to hear. How ’bout your wife? Is she back at work yet?”

“Well she’s working hard at home, taking care of the kids. But she’s not going back into the workforce, if that’s what you mean.”

“Oh fun! That must be nice!”

“Fun? It’s a lot of hard work. Rewarding, yes. Fun? Not always.”

This one wasn’t in-your-face. It was only quietly presumptuous and subversively condescending.

DR Congo: Cursed by its natural wealth

I read this article on the BBC News website last night and it was quite shocking.

Congo had a sophisticated civilisation until the 15th/16th centuries when it started being exploited and has since been sent to dark places while other nations benefit from its resources.

I didn't know that so much of the weaponry used by the allies in WW2 had components that were take from Congo, or the level of interference the population had suffered.

A very good read.

The Democratic Republic of Congo is potentially one of the richest countries on earth, but colonialism, slavery and corruption have turned it into one of the poorest, writes historian Dan Snow.

You really don't look awful *Serious face*

Being absolutely pleased with the way that Allah has created us as individuals is something that I need to work and maybe that's what you, person who is using your smartphone or sitting infront of a PC or laptop needs to work on too.

We can say "Yeah, I'm happy with the way I am" to make it seem like we're a little grateful but it needs to be said with firm conviction. Everytime you look into your mirror, tell yourself that you're absolutely pleased, without a shadow of a doubt with the way that you were created. Say it to yourself every time you look in to your mirror!

Face blindness: Seeing but not seeing

I came across this idea of seeing but not actually seeing whilst I was spending some time on the net and I think it's absolutely fascinating. The more technical term is PROSPAGNOSIA. Once you've got the hang of pronouncing that correctly, I shall continue.

Basically, it's when you have an impairment that doesn't allow you to recognise faces. Being forgetful after seeing someone, several years down the line isn't what I'm talking about.

Research was carried out and it was found that people with this condition can see the eyes, the nose, and the mouth, what is known as the context - but they cannot see a person as a whole. They do not recognise gestures nor emotions.

OMG, Have you heard what Tommy has done?!

For people who've been keeping up with news, :O What do you make of it? Share your opinions, I'd like to know what you have to say!

Personally, I had the shock of my life! In all honesty, I feel like this move has been well thought out. I'm not going to buy into it and I assume that the underlying reason behind his actions are to encourage others to think that he is the "good guy" with a "good cause".

It's about time he realised that organising marches and demonstrations were very pointless and didn't achieve anything at all, except for a good day out in the sun. I'm glad in some ways, but this isn't an end to all the racism, hatred and islamophobia. It will go on, trust me!

Soo.....

What I want to do is write. Write and escape. Create a little bubble of characters.

Or even better, read. Read and get lost into their lives. Fill myself up with pointless banter and content my heart with escapism.

But truthfully?

I just want to be close with Allah SWT again. I feel the yearning for the Qur'an but there's something deep inside me stopping the words from touching my heart.

A discussion

Technology has destroyed communication in numerous ways. Before the introduction of phones, ipads, Television, laptops, xbox, computer games, ipods etc, society was active and mentally healthy. Being sociable does not represent the amount of hours you spend behind a screen; rather it defines how well you are when it comes to communicating TO and WITH people. Before the emergence of technology, a stress free life was laid out with tight knit communities and suicide rates were not as high! People fall out now even more as they did before, simply because of a misplaced explanation mark, forgetting an emoticon or the extra 'X' at the end of a message.

You'll never be as young as you are right now

It's been so long since I blogged!

I'd like to welcome myself back. WELCOME BACK LOOKING TO SEEEEEE!!!!! YAYYY.

okay, so I just had this thought process occur to me, so its all very fresh and confuzzled and might not be expressed in the best-est of ways.

I realised something, but let me take you on my thought process.

I very much like Peter Pan even though I dont think I actually ever read the original book, though I have read and watched many adaptations and spins off etc... (recently I'd been thinking that I need to get my hands on it and read it)

Anyway, I don't know when Peter Pan became so significant in my life, but somehow it did, the idea of never growing up stuck with me. hard.

New policy on spam account deletions?

Just floating an idea out there.

Normally most spam accounts created on here are easy to spot - they contain something obvious or the name is nonsensical enough to know that its spam.

But other times, its not so obvious. Here, either the account can be allowed and then at somepoint it might start to spam away, or worse be a "test" account to see if the site actually carries out any deterrence to remove spam accounts. Leaving it will give the green light to spammers to create more spam accounts.

The other option is to delete hard and fast, hoping that if a genuine account is accidentally deleted, the genuine account holder will create a new account and potentially kick up enough of a fuss for that to not happen again.
