The prime minister is focusing on tackling an 'evil ideology'
UK Muslim leaders and politicians have met at Downing Street and agreed to tackle terrorism "head on", Prime Minister Tony Blair has said.

We always hear this term, 'Muslim leaders'. Tony Blair and co today have had a meet with Muslim leaders? so who are they? who appoints someone as a Muslim leader? How do you become a Muslim leader? what are the conditions? Is thh MCB leaders of the Muslim community in the UK?

New religious hate laws unveiled
Inciting religious hatred is to be made a criminal offence under plans unveiled by Home Secretary David Blunkett.

The government failed to get laws introducing the offence passed by Parliament in the wake of the US terror attacks in 2001.

In a speech in London, Mr Blunkett revived the proposals.

He said he was returning to the plans as there was a need to stop people being abused or targeted just because they held a particular religious faith.

Growing up, you read me the Ugly Duckling. And for years I believed that was me. I am a woman—that ugly duckling among men. For so long you taught me I was nothing more than a bad copy of the standard.

I couldn’t run as fast or lift as much. I didn’t make the same money and I cried too often. I grew up in a man’s world where I didn’t belong.

And when I couldn’t be him, I wanted only to please him. I put on your makeup and wore your short skirts. I gave my life, my body, my dignity, for the cause of being pretty.

Pakistan rape case controversy

What effect will the appeal in the Pakistan gang rape case have on women's justice?
Pakistan's Supreme Court is hearing appeals in a notorious gang rape case which has received worldwide attention.

A village council in Punjab allegedly ordered the rape of Mukhtar Mai in 2002 because her younger brother was seen with a woman from another tribe.

In March, a lower court overturned the convictions of five men and Ms Mai and the government are appealing against four of those acquittals with proceedings expected to last for at least a week.
