"Grown up lyrics"

Salaams people.

I am tine deaf and know very little about music, songs/nasheeds or anything related except for occasionally liking something I hear (and more occasionally NOT liking it)

Saying that, a comment yesterday got me thinking. What makes the lyrics childish? what means they are grown up?

(The person we were talking about was "Dawud Wharnsby" where one track was more grown up than the other...)

Bishop Nazir Ali

Salam

Bishop Nazir Ali is known to his anti-muslim rants.

He is always on the media condeming muslims and their religion.

So, in view of his stance, can we dare to
think whether this is God's work, or, simply a typing error?

What did the aide say about the Bishop

By Robert Verkaik - Independent - 22 December 2008

His outspoken views on gay rights and the integration of Muslim communities have attracted vitriolic criticism and even earned him death threats from outside the Church of England.

Now the controversial Bishop of Rochester, the Rt Rev Michael Nazir-Ali, 59, has found himself the target of a scatological attack by an aide in the offices of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams.

[Call for Nominations] Muslim Personality of 2008

Salaams people.

Another stalwart of the old days.

But instead of having a poll straight away, maybe we should get nominations of who gets onto the poll itself. Mainly because I have no idea who did what this year and cannot think of a single name.

So, go ahead and suggest people that have done something extraordinary this year (its not a lifetime achievement award) and then maybe in a few days we can have a properly publicised poll on the site that can run for a set period of time.

Giving a short para or two as for the reason would be most helpful.

Looking back, Moving forwards (Resolutions for 2009?)

wow, these forums must be dead if the normal seasonal topics have still not been created.

This has been a long year in which a lot has changed. I have. a lot of my views are currently the total opposite of what they were last year!

Before now I used to avoid resolutions/review/popularity contest topics and this year here I am creating them!

What are people's thought on the year that has gone and the year that has come?

(Just think of this as "Revival Anonymous", but with the whole world watching if they wish to. like a circus.)

Milan poor to get caviar

Milan poor to get seized caviar

Beluga caviar seized by Italian customs officers is to be distributed to poor people in Milan as a Christmas gift.

About 40kg (88lb) of caviar was confiscated in November after two couriers travelling from Poland were stopped with the hidden cargo.

Newspaper Corriere Della Serra says the caviar had an estimated value of $550,000 (£370,000).

Tests showed the caviar to be edible, so it is to be given to canteens, hospices and shelters for the poor.

Beluga caviar is the most expensive variety of the delicacy.

Countries have tried to crack down on illegal trading of caviar after more than 600 tonnes of it were traded in the EU between 1998 and 2004.

[Boxing] Holyfield Vs Valuev

Holyfield Vs Valuev

Anyone expect a funeral after the fight is over?

Holyfield is not only much lighter, much shorter, he is also old. 46.

Evander Holyfield will concede a remarkable 43 kg (96lb) to Nikolay Valuev when they meet in their world heavyweight title bout on Saturday.

Holyfield, 46, is 11 years older and nearly 30 cm (12in) shorter than the Russian, who is the sport's heaviest and tallest heavyweight champion.

Chill out, you beautiful people, the Versace beach is refrigerated

Versace, the renowned fashion house, is to create the world’s first refrigerated beach so that hotel guests can walk comfortably across the sand on scorching days.

The beach will be next to the the new Palazzo Versace hotel which is being built in Dubai where summer temperatures average 40C and can reach 50C.

The beach will have a network of pipes beneath the sand containing a coolant that will absorb heat from the surface.

The swimming pool will be refrigerated and there are also proposals to install giant blowers to waft a gentle breeze over the beach.
